Off stream. Snake is planning a new DnD game for the Late Night Crew. He is doing this online, when he notices that another Dungeon Master is creating a similar map to his, DnD e.3, and investigates to get ideas.
The map the person is working on is a castle hall, and there are three other scenes beside, as well as some character sheets. He clicks on them, and is duly impressed by the detail in them. The character pictures are well drawn, and the characters themselves are realistic. He feels he should take notes, as this player has obviously been doing this for a long time.
He clicks on the username, a Canis Invité, and sends them a message.
"Sorry to bother you, but I couldn't help but notice that you have some interesting utilities that you used to create your Langoria map with. I am creating a similar map at the moment, and I was wondering where I could get these mods?
It also seems you are experienced in DnD. Could you give me some pointers on being a good Dungeon Master? I am currently having a lot of trouble creating a quest.
Regards, Remoryuu."
He sends it, and goes back to his map creation. A few hours later, Canis has sent a reply.
"I'm very happy to help. Here's the link to the mods, and a few other useful things beside."
There is a link there.
"With the creation of a quest, I usually just create the map, and whatever ideas come to mind when I see it usually end up becoming the quests. Try building on the classic story style: Beginning, conflict, climax, end/resolution. As a DnD DM, knowing the dice rules is enough. Don't control the game though, let the players do their own thing. You are just the guide, there when needed. If they are first-timers, be prepared to rehash the rules many times, and use convincing role play. This is another useful link to being a DM."
Another link.
"I hope I have assisted you well enough in your creation.
Canis Invité"
And so begins the many correspondences on DnD. Snake had originally intended for the game to be a one-off, but he likes it so much now that he's begun to create about three more quests. Canis continues to be a great help, and they spend many emails going over the details of their creations, and the rules of the game.
And then came the Late Night Session.
