Chapter 4

Land of Loss and Judgement

You looked around at the planet your house was now on. There was a thick canopy of deep green trees, with dark purple trunks, casting dark shadows across the forest floor. There was a network of trails crisscrossing the forest floor, illuminated by faintly glowing lime eye-shaped objects in the bushes.

Your house was in a slight indent in the ground, not quite a valley, but something similar. Somehow it still had electricity, and you were grateful. You had a feeling that your house would be the only place you could get food for the next while. Was there actual rules for time in wherever this is?

You heard a ping from your phone, and pulled it out to check. People were texting in the group chat.

Dae: So is everyone in?

Alex: yeah I think so

Gabe: I'm safety in the medium

Kaitlin: Same here

Helen: I'm in!

Violett: haven't died yet!

Nick: got my phone back, and considering I haven't died a fiery death yet, I assume I'm in. My land doesn't look too different from what Earth did, though

Katie: Where is AJ? He is our informant, we can't lose him

AJ: don't worry, I'm here. lookin around. what are everyone's planet names?

Gabe: Land of Shroud and Gears

Nick: Land of Ranges and Renewal

Violett: Land of Crowds and Silence

Violett: There's a lot of these weird komodo dragon things

AJ: those are consorts. I think. mine aren't komodo dragons, they are chameleons

Drake: mine are some type of lizard. I think they're desert night lizards.

AJ: the ones that live in packs right?

Drake: yeah but i havent seen them in packs. Theyre all solitary.

AJ: what is the name of your planet?

Drake: land of passion and isolation

AJ: theres the reason why

Drake: wait what

AJ: ive got to go. Ill be back in a little bit

Alex: wait aj you cant leave youre supposed to tell us how to not die

Gabe: i think he's already gone

Dae: dang it

You stand up from your seat under one of the trees. You whirled around, thinking you were being watched. You could've sworn that you'd seen a pair of eyes close, but you brushed it off as paranoia, and decided to keep looking around. Your older brother was still sleeping, somehow, but since he worked nights he often slept during the days. Not that this place really had the same time measurements as Earth. You didn't think that measuring time would be very handy in this... place. where ever you were. It wasn't home, that was for sure.
