CHAPTER 20

I was woken up by the bell to another lecture. This day was dragging. I wanted to get home to my brothers to hear how did things go with dad. I took my stuff and put them in my bag. I walked out of the class and stood outside of the class next to the door. Precious came out rushing.  I pulled her arm so roughly that she turned slowly screaming and looked at me.

    "You hurting me! ,she scaled at me.

    "Why are you avoiding me? I'm your best friend for crying out loud! What's wrong with you?", I looked straight on her eyes.

    "Theishar, you hurting me! Let me go!", she was pulling herself from my tight grip on her arm.

  "Not until you talk to me", I pulled a serious merciless face.

     "Okay okay, I'm gonna brief about everything when we go home", she said.

   "Why not now?", I asked.

"We have a class to catch ", she answered. My phone rang. It was Emmanuel. I let her hand go.

     "Talk to me brother", I smirked at Precious.

     "I'm here to pick you up. Something happened. Come quickly I'm outside the college. ", he said.

  "What happened bruh? Emmanuel? ", fuck he dropped the call. I look at Precious.

     "I'll pop by your house later to finish this", I told her.

    "Can I come?", she asked.

"No!", I waved at her and ran to my brother. I got in the car and he sped up.

    "Ever gonna tell me what's going on?", I asked Emma warily because he was so focused. Driving like a mad man. H was so quite. Infactso upset.

    "Mommy got into a car accident after she dropped you!", he parked the car in a parking lot at some hospital. I was so shocked I didn't even what to ask.

We ran quickly inside the hospital. Sam was sitting next to dad. I knelt in front of Sam. I cried. He hugged me.

   "Lizzy is in ICU. She's badly injured. The doctor's don't guarantee a survival at all", he stood up and walked through the passage running his fingers on his hair. I rolled myself on the ground and cried. I couldn't imagine my life without her.

   "Tee get up?!", Emmanuel shouted at me. I stood up and went over to him not stopping  crying at all. He hugged me and kissed me in the forehead.

   "Look sis, if you keep crying you'll make our enemies feel as if they have defeated us. Dad planned this. He knows our plan and he wanted to kill mom. But you know what she's not going to die. She's a fighter. She has us and she'll do anything for us. Now stop crying. We have to make up another plan to kick his smart ass", I was shocked that my jaw was touching the ground.

     "Why is he like that? He's heartless! How did he find out about the plan? ", I asked wondering.

   "That Scottie boy of yours planted a bug in your room. Apparently that's how our plan got busted", I wiped tears of my face in disbelief.

    "Where is he now? I'm gonna kill him with my bare hands when I see him", I said anger rising from within.

    "Don't worry Tee, we've already held him hostage", he smiled and looked over to Sam. These guys ain't loyal. They moving too fast. I like they're thinking. Sam came over when a doctor approached us. Dad also came close.

  "Mrs Corebeny is a fighter. The operation went very well. We managed to ease the internal bleeding. And we managed to move back her her bone. Now she's out of the ICU she's in ward 37", the doctor smiled.

    "Can we see her? ", I asked.

"Yes,but please don't wake her up. She has to rest enough to heal quickly ".

    "Thanks Doc", we went tobthe ward. She had bandages all over her body. Gosh I don't like what I see. The only part that was not bandaged was her eyes,noseand lips. This was tragic. I got out and sat down on the chair outside the room and cried.

    "Here sis", Emmanuel gave me a glass of water. He sat down next to me.

   "You have to be strong sis, not for me, not for yourself but for mommy. And we have to be here 24/7 so that dad doesn't finish her off okay?", I nodded and wiped my tears off.

  "So how are we gonna proceed with the plan when mommy is hospitalized?  Is Richard gonna Sprint off with everything?", I asked.

  "It's gonna be suspicious if he does that now. He has to wait for her to heal. For her to come home again ", he answered.

    "But what are going to do so long?", I asked again.

  "Sam's got a plan. Don't worry about that ", we walked back to the ward.
