Taehyung's P.O.V.

Right after I had pulled the trigger I flung the gun down the hall, disgusted with myself and my actions. Closing my eyes, I replayed the scene in my head, fighting back tears as I remembered everything Julia had done for the two of us.

"So are you guys ready to leave?" She asked anxiously.

"Right now?" I asked, my eyes popping out of my head.

"Yeah. All the hunters are dead You won!" Julia said quietly, her eyes beginning to water. I looked at her in confusion.

"But you're still alive..." I trailed off, realizing where this was going.

"That's what you're in charge of." Julia said, reaching over and placing her gun in my hand. She placed my finger on the trigger and raised my arm, stopping when it was pressed against the temple of her head. "Now pull the trigger." She she said, allowing a tear to roll down her cheek.

And I did... I pulled the trigger. I pulled the trigger like she was nothing to us, like she hadn't been the only person responsible for mine and Alaina's survival. All I could hear was the sound of the bullet leaving the gun, and it kept replaying over and over in my mind. It was deafening, and with each boom I felt myself growing sicker and sicker.

"Taehyung...?" I heard someone quietly squeak from below me. It took me a few moments to gather the strength to open my eyes and look down, only to find Alaina frantically pulling at the corner of my shirt.

"Yeah...?" I choked out, my breath hitching as I tried to refrain from letting the tears fall. She reached her arm out to the other side of the hall, hand trembling as she pointed to Julia's dead body. I forced myself to look at it for the first time.

Her hands were down by her sides, still clenched stiffly together from when she braced herself for the impact of the bullet. Looking up at her face, I forced myself to scrutinize every detail so I would never be able to forget the woman. Her lips were already beginning to turn blue, her cheeks were still stained with her tears.

"What happened to her?" Alaina whispered out, distracting me from my thoughts. I looked down, only to find her crying. I pulled her tightly into my chest as she cried into my shoulder, rubbing her back gently in circles until she calmed down.

"She saved us." I shakily said as I fought back tears of my own.

"Give yourself some credit. You did the saving here." A man snarled out from behind me. I turned around, Alaina still held tightly to me, to find a middle-aged man in a nice suit walking towards us. "You won this game fair and square. You did, Taehyung. And to be honest, I'm glad that bitch is dead." He spat at me, my face burning red at his crude mention of Julia.

"Don't talk about her like that!" Alaina shouted. I quickly put my hand over her mouth, but the damage was already done. The man walked over to us quickly, bending down to become eye level with Alaina.

"Don't tell me what to do you little shit." He shouted in her face. Alaina grabbed around me tighter in fear and I instinctively moved my hand to my side, grasping my revolver. "I guess they're teaching women how to be bitches from a young age now." He growled, chuckling at his own joke.

I glared at the man, completely unaware of Alaina moving beside me. I heard a smack and looked down to find the man holding his cheek, the imprint of a hand already starting to form. He moved for something in his pocket, and in an instant I was bringing my gun up to his body and firing, his body collapsing onto the floor, dead.

I quickly stood up, sweeping Alaina into my arms once again and running towards the exit, wanting to get the hell out of here before someone else showed up.
