/// Maya POV

"I swear, even if Maya and Lucas aren't dating, they'd make such a cute couple," Maya heard Sarah say.

"Yeah, but the entire school is saying Missy is jealous of their 'perfect' relationship." Darby commented.

They don't know I'm listening, I thought.

"No, Riley and Lucas had a perfect relationship. Now Riley is with Farkle." Sarah corrected.

"Riley and Farkle make a cute couple, but Maya and Lucas... they'd make a great family. Their chemistry is amazing. It's not like some gooey teenage romance, it's actual love." Darby continued.

"I guess your right. But there are rumors it was all a lie. Can you imagine? The strongest, most brave girl at our school lied for her reputation of dating?" Sarah asked.

I knew it wasn't a complement, but she couldn't help but smile. I thought about barging in their conversation, but something stopped her.

"I just wish somebody loved me like Lucas loves her." Darby said.

"I know, he told Zay he was in love with her and one day later, their a couple. People are saying only Farkle knows the truth." Sarah replied.

I couldn't help myself. I felt the butterflies in my stomach and I ran to them.

"Hey Sarah, Darby. What are you talking about?" I said, peppier than usual.

"What do you want, you never talk to us. You act like were unimportant in the story line." Sarah glared at me.

I shook off that retort. "I just heard you talking about me and my friends."

"You and your friends? No, we only care about you and your boyfriend. That's the only thing we were talking about." Darby said to me, nicer.

"Why do you think I was lying?" I asked my classmates, narrowing my eyes.

"We d-don't. Now could you please leave us alone, Maya? Not everyone lives and Mayaville, why can't you just accept that your not the hot news. You and your boyfriend are." Sarah said, walking away with Dave.

Darby shrugged and went to go find Yogi.

I furrowed my eyebrows. I don't really care what the people are talking about. I have an actual problem here. Why do I have to love a boy that doesn't love me?

As if my situation couldn't get worse, Missy Bradford had to come and torment me.

"Listen, Penelope, nobody is enjoying your little game. I don't understand why their all talking about you, instead of me, but I figured I had enough of it. If you don't do exactly as I say, I'm going to do horrible things to you. You don't even know." Missy threatened.

Then, she punched me in my stomach. Hard. "Ow!" I whined.

"Shut up. Now, I know Lucas loves you, God knows why, but you have to do everything I say."

I glanced across the empty hall. I saw Lucas talking to Farkle and Zay. I wanted to ask for help, but somehow I just couldn't manage the courage to yell.

Missy kicked me in my ankle. "I don't... have to do anything you say, Bradford." I breathed.

"Why are you... hurting me? What did we ever... do to you...?" I asked, rubbing my bruises she gave me.

"We?" Missy laughed. "What do you mean by 'we'?" She laughed again.

"Everyone," I retort. "You always hurt everyone, physically or emotionally, it doesn't matter." I said, trying to stand up.

"I only want you to listen to me." Missy said after letting me get up.

"Fine, Missy. What do you want?" I said, softening my voice. I glanced at Lucas, this time he saw me.

Texas Lucas. Uh Oh.

Missy pushed me to the ground one more time, then she kicked me. "Never mind," She laughed. She turned around and her fake smile turned into a fearful frown. "L-Lucas? Did you s-see that?"

Lucas didn't nod. He didn't frown, nor did he smile. He just looked at me.

/// Lucas POV

I glanced at the beauty across the hall. "Ugh, Bradford is talking to her," I said to Zay and Farkle.

"Why does Maya look scared?" Zay pointed out.

"Uh, Lucas, Missy just hurt Maya." Farkle said, spinning me around.

I saw my girlfriend be pushed to the ground, kicked, and punched.

"Lucas, hold yourself. Please, don't go all Texas on us. Don't hurt Missy. You'll regret it!" Zay tried to convince me.

I shook my head. "I love her, I don't really care what happens to me." I said, not turning around. I slowly walk up to Missy. She doesn't see me yet.

She turns around with a fake smile plastered on her face, and Maya lays on the ground, in pain.

"L-Lucas? Did you s-see that?" Missy asked me, acting innocent.

I stared at Maya.

I walked over to her, and helped her get up.

"Don't ever touch her. Again." Missy gulped.

Thanks for reading this weird chapter, but I sort of like it. Please tune into the next one.
