Song that goes with chapter: Impossible by Shontelle

Maya POV ///

I stormed out of the gym. I ran into my apartment. I buried my face in my pillows.

I didn't move. I sobbed for hours until Riley finally called me.

"Peaches? Where did you go? We've been so worried about you!"

"I'm not in the mood, Riles." I sniff.

"Maya, I know you. I know you've been crying. Is this about Lucas?" She asks.

"Uh, yeah. It might be something like that. But I need you to go and make out with Farkle, okay? I should be least of your worries right now." I say.

"Maya, your my best friend. I love Farkle, but it's you and me forever. I'm coming to your house. End of story."

"What, no Riley-" And then the call ended.

I was so angry at him.

But why should I be?

I keep forgetting were not actually dating, so again, why do I have any right to be angry?

Because I'm jealous.

I'm jealous that I love him so much and I thought he did, but then he ditches me at Prom for Missy Bradford.

Ding! My phone buzzed.

I flipped it over to see Lucas spamming my phone.

I sigh. I decide to call him back.

"What?" I ask with a sharp tone.

"Maya, I'm so sorry. Please give me the chance to explain, I promise you there's a reasonable explanation for this." He pleaded.

"Yeah?" I ask.

"Then why is there a photo of Missy kissing you on her Instagram?" I ask, furious, not even wanting his answer.

"M-Maya, you have to let me explain! SHE kissed me! She's is drunk right now and for all I know, high. Maya I am sorry, she threatened you if I didn't do this. I had to, it was for you."

"Lucas, It might have been fake, but I don't think we should talk anymore." I say, in tears.

"What?" He asks, by surprise.

"I know what you say might be true, but I have taught myself to never fall in love, and when I did, something bad would happen to me. Lucas, you never cared about me like I cared about you. That's why I don't think we should talk anymore." I reply.

"Maya, are you saying you love me?" He asks.

"Lucas, I don't even want to be your friend." I cry into the phone.

"Maya, you have to believe me, this wasn't my fault!" He yells.

"Goodbye Lucas." I say, letting the tears cascade down my cheeks.

"Maya-" I didn't want to hear it.

I hung up.

A few minutes later of sobbing and using tissues, Riley ran into my house and engulfed me in a big hug. I told her everything, and she listened.

///

Soon enough Zay, Smackle, and Farkle arrived, and I filled them in on the details. I told them my decision, and the exact phone call.

Zay said Lucas was being honest, but Smackle and Riley don't believe him.

Farkle got us all ice cream, and we ended up watching a movie the rest of the night.
