(Chapter Nine)

After leaving the airport I drove as fast as I could to Lauren's house all the girls were already there and I couldn't wait to see them and spend this next two weeks hanging out with all of them. I needed some girl time and just to relax and have fun for once. I arrived at Lauren's and Normani's house in no time, As soon as I parked my car I ran up the driveway and towards the door. Before I could even knock the green eyed girl that I've missed so much opened the door, Without wasting any more time I jumped into her arms my legs wrapped around her waist, My face snuggled on her neck I was taking in her scent, time seemed to stop at this very moment, the background noise was gone and I could feel her heartbeat sync with mine, our own breathing was the only audible sound I could really take in. All my fears and my worries disappeared at this very moment. Her arms were wrapped around my body I could feel her breath on my neck and we stood there for what seemed hours.

"Uhm, So are you guys like stuck or can we all get a hug too?" Dinah's voice interrupted the most perfect moment I have ever been in. I slowly pulled my legs down and unwrapped from the most perfect hug, I smiled at all the girls as I hugged each one of them. "I miss you guys sooo much, It was the longest week ever" I said taking another look at Lauren who wouldn't stop staring at me. "Tell me about it girl! I'm so glad Shawn is gone now we can really have some fun. Are you staying here tonight?" Dinah asked talking a thousand words per second. "Dang, DJ you need to chill. What did you eat?" Ally asked laughing as we all took a seat on the couch. "Nothing I'm just excited to have our friend back, Is that bad?" Dinah smirked back a grin on her face.

"Not at all, So what's the plan?" I asked, Not really wanting to hear the answer because they probably wanted to go out to a club and I was not a big party person. We had partied enough I thought. "We were thinking about just going to a bar and chill, we know you don't like clubs so we can go get a few drinks and come back here to have a sleepover" Lauren's voice indulged my ears. I turned and looked at her, those green eyes never leaving mine. Something had definitely changed between us, the time apart and then that hug it felt different, I was comfortable with her and my walls started to slowly come down. "Sure I'm down for a bar night out. I'm just gonna go get my backpack from my car" I said starting to get up from the uncomfortable couch we were all squeezed in.

"Oh so you were already planning on staying over huh?" Dinah asked an eyebrow raised. I blushed not really realizing this had never been the plan but I was hoping it would be. Ally had to head home because she had a big project coming up at work so It was only the 4 of us again. After a few minutes we all got casually ready to head to the bar. We arrived at a pretty nice place, Lights were hanging from the ceiling it was pretty bright, music was blasting from the vintage jukebox and all the people seemed to be having fun a few people were on the dancefloor and I really enjoyed the vibe this place displayed. "Welcome to Jerry's" I heard Dinah say apparently her and Normani had been here before, me and Lauren were amazed by this new little gem.

We took a sit at a booth just across the bar and Dinah started ordering us drinks. Her and Normani seemed more comfortable they became really close this last week since she was always at their house. Ally was always busy and well I was married so I guess she found a great friend in Normani and that made me really happy. Dinah and Normani were having their own conversation drinking and laughing graciously by their own stupidity. Lauren kept eyeing me not saying much, I felt nervous been so close to her I didn't know why. She was just so beautiful and she clearly felt nervous as well fidgeting with her glass drink and her fingers. I didn't want to just sit here and be all awkward so I took a shot and just started random conversation with the green eyed beauty.

"How was fashion week?" I asked not really getting all the info before. "It was amazing, I really wish you could of made it. This two" Lauren said pointing at Normani and Dinah who weren't even paying attention to us. "Went all crazy when Kendall and Gigi arrived, A total embarrassment to be honest but they were really nice. They took pictures and told Normani she should try putting some headshots out there." Lauren said before taking another shot. "No way they want Normani as a model?" I asked eyeing the dark beauty. "Of course, Have you seen her? But Normani said she had to really think about it because she didn't think she could be able to perform on a catwalk. Which is silly because she always makes that Beyoncé walk, even better than the original one" Lauren laughed, Looking at Normani full of pride. I knew they were like sisters and their friendship was one of the most beautiful ones I had ever seen.
