Alpha Lightwoods Mate

Chapter 1

So let me tell you, being the Alpha's daughter isn't all it's cracked out to be. Of course, everyone wants to be your friend, some people won't mess with you and you get special treatment. When you go to an all werewolf school the teachers can't yell at you for being twenty minutes late, you don't have to take certain test and you don't have to turn in all of your homework on time, but you still have to turn it in.

Then there's the downside, you have to attend all pack meetings, got to official pack parties, you HAVE to be nice to everyone who is in your family or are pack elders and you can't throw parties at your own house because it makes the Alpha look bad.

I'm Avalon Hightower and I'm eighteen. I am the only daughter of the Alpha and oldest of five kids. I have long wavy blonde hair to the middle of my back, bright blue eyes, soft pink lips and a have a body that I love. I'm slender, have long legs and have a light skin complexion.

"Avalon?" my mom asked sounding worried and I looked at her.

"Yes?" I asked.

"You have to go and get ready for the party" my dad clearly annoyed that I wasn't paying attention.

"I don't understand why all of us have to go," I said standing up. "It's pretty much just a bunch of other pack coming together three times a month."

"Well, we do host every single party and how would we look like if only the parents showed up and had no explanation for what their kids are doing or why they didn't want to come."

I guess my mom saw a huge argument coming because she suddenly stood up and looked at both of us.

"Plus," she said and my dad looked at her. "What's a party without the entire Alpha's family?"

"Never mind" I said and started walking upstairs.

"Wear something nice!" my father yelled.

Oh and the other downside of being the only girl in the family is my dad will stop at nothing to try to hook you up with some of the guys he approves of. Especially, if you are the Alpha's daughter he'll introduce you to other young Alpha's, soon-to-be Alpha's or Alpha's sons. But, I end up chewing him out if he does it twenty four hours.

"You have to get ready, too?" Ryker asked as I reached the third floor.

"Yeah, but I tried to talk them out of making us go an-" he cut me off.

"And it backfired" he finished and I nodded.

"Well, I'll see you soon" I said and walked into my room to find Zoey and Alayna going through my closet. "What are you guys doing?" I asked.

"Looking for something to wear tonight, duh" Zoey said and I rolled my eyes.

"I'm looking for shoes" Alayna said and then they both began to go through my closet again.

Zoey and Alayna are my dad's, brothers, daughters, which makes them my cousins.

Alayna has long dirty blonde hair and storm gray eyes and Zoey has light brown hair and the same gray eyes.

"Okay" I said and flopped on my bed.

"Aren't you going to get ready?" Zoey asked and I looked at her.

"I don't even want to go."

"You have to though," Alayna said and walked over to me. "Did you guys hear that a new Alpha is going to be there?"

"New Alpha?" I asked and she nodded.

"He's not new," Zoey said and joined us. "He's just the Alpha that no one wants to mess with. He never comes out unless during a battle or to talk with another Alpha."

"Well that's good for him," I said and stood up. "But, I still don't want to go."

"It'll be fun," Zoey said.

"You say that every time and every time it's not even close to being fun."

"Right."

"So what are you guys wearing?" I asked turning to them.

"I'm thinking of wearing a navy blue dress with white heels."  Zoey said.

"I'm thinking of wearing a long sleeved purple dress with black heels" Alayna said and I nodded.

"Well, in that case," I said and turned back to my closet. "I guess I'm going to wear a strapless baby blue dress with white strappy high heels."

"Perfect" they said and unison and we all started getting ready.

"What time is it?" Zoey asked and I looked at my phone.

"Four twenty-five" I replied.

"When does the party starts?" Alayna asked.

"Five."

"All we need to do is get our hair done."

"I'm already ready" I said and they looked at me like I was crazy.

"My hair is naturally wavy and I've been told that my hair looks really good down, so I'm going to keep it down."

"Fine" they said and turned back to the mirror.

"I'll see you guys down stairs" I said and walked out of my room and down stairs where the rest of my family was waiting.

"Where are the others?" my dad asked.

"Still getting ready."

"We have to leave soon" my mom said looking at her watch.

"Here we come" Zoey said walking down the stairs.

"Let's go" dad said and we all walked out and into the car.

After about a ten minute car drive we got to the party before the first guest arrived.

"Let's go have some fun." Jace said and walked inside.

"Let's try and have some fun." I muttered and followed him inside.
