Chapter 2

"How long have we been here?" I asked Seth.

"Half an hour" he replied looking at his watch and I groaned.

"So that means we have to be here for another two hours?" I asked and he nodded. "My idea of a party is to have fun, music blaring and alcohol, not to be bored to death."

"So are you having fun?" Zoey asked joining us.

"No,"I said and looked at her. "You said that you weren't going to leave me alone and you lied."

"Sorry, I've been on the look out for that Alpha that's suppose to be here," she said still looking around. "I want to see if I'm his mate."

"Why do you want to be mated to an Alpha?" Seth asked.

"Yeah, they are so possessive, controlling and normally dicks," I pointed out and she rolled her eyes.

"You're not looking for one because since you are the Alpha's daughter you are already destined to be mated to an Alpha or a future Alpha."

"Not that she has a choice though," Brantley said and joined us.

"Well, you guys are going to be mated to some werewolf that has some Alpha blood in them so you guys are lucky," Alayna said.

"I don't get why you guys keep searching for your mate, when you meet them you'll know.'

"Right." Seth agreed and I nodded.

"Kids, come here," my dad said and we all turned around to look at him. "You guys need to come and say hi to your grandpa and grandma."

"Which one?" Jace asked and I smiled.

"Your Grandpa Ford," he replied and we all groaned.

"Let's get this over with" I said and started walking to where they were both sitting.

"Why do they always want to say hi to us and why do they always come to these boring pack parties?"

"Well, grandpa and grandpa used to be Alpha and Luna so I think that they think that it's kind of their duty to still attend them" Brantley said and Seth nodded in agreement.

"Hi" I said as we reached the table and gave them hugs.

"Hello, sweetheart" they said and each kissed me on the cheek. "How are you doing?" they asked.

"Good, you?"

"Fantastic" they replied and I nodded.

"So what are you guys doing here?"

"Your father invited us" grandpa replied and I nodded.

"Why?" I asked.

"Because he wants us to meet the Alpha that never leaves his land" grandma replied.

"Should I be mad that you guys didn't even come to see us?" Zoey asked and they smiled.

"That was the other reason we came, too" they said and I nodded.

"Sure" I said and they both laughed.

"Avalon!" I heard Tina and I smiled as I turned around.

"What are you doing here?" I asked as she hugged me.

"Well, your dad invited everyone to meet the Alpha that's suppose to be showing up tonight."

"Really?" I asked and she nodded. "Why does he want everyone to meet this Alpha? If he didn't come to these things it was for a good reason and I can't blame him" I said.

"Really?" my mom said walking up from behind Tina. "Can't you just act like you like them for your fathers sake?" she asked.

"No, because then I would be lying and you told us not to lie" I said and she laughed.
