Here's chapter one guys! Enjoy!
Zoron's POV
"Zoron," Zoey yelled, "You need to read this."
Zoron walked towards her and she handed him a letter.
Dear Keepers of Amaya,
Evertree is sick and Great Beasts are being summoned back to life,
Will explain more at the Evertree.
-Lenori
"Oh no, that's not good," Zoron mumbled.
The Great Beasts have died since they sacrificed themselves and killed the Evertree. Now, a new Evertree has grown, the tree which holds the bonds between the Spirit Animals and their human partners.
"Well, it's good in a way," Zoey replied, "We get to meet the others again."
"Hopefully the others will be fine," Zoron said, "Quick, we need to tell Hope and get to the Evertree as soon as we can."
Ivan's POV
"Can't wait to see the others?" Jef asked Ivan.
As soon as they got Lenori's letter, they had quickly packed and left as soon as they can. They were on their horses, trotting towards the Evertree, since the Evertree is in Nilo.
"Of course I can't wait," Ivan exclaimed, "Aren't you excited as well?"
"Yeah, you're right," Jef sighed, "but i'm kinda nervous about meeting them again."
"Why is that?" Ivan asked.
"It has been so long," Jef answered, "A year since we've seen them and then the Evertree being sick and Great Beasts being summoned. This is no war, Ivan, this is different."
"Yes, you're right," Ivan said, grimly, "And i'm sure that's not all."
"What do you mean?" Jef asked.
"Don't you think someone might be behind all this?" Ivan asked.
Jef didn't reply as they kept on riding back to the Evertree.
Irene's POV
As soon as she got the letter, Irene had already boarded Tellun's Pride II. She had already known about the Evertree being sick and Great Beasts summoning for Olvan had told her himself. She was at Greenhaven when Conor, summoner of Briggan, had brought back Kovo the Ape and his human partner, Takoda. Conor had managed to get to them before Zerif had.
Zerif who was back, capturing the other Great Beasts. Zerif who somehow survived from the burning ship, which Eilene hadn't. Irene shook her head. Just thinking about it made her head hurt more. But her thoughts wandered back. She wondered how Zerif could capture so many Great Beasts. Conor had said something about a black, twisting spiral on Zerif's forehead. A piece of the parasite had slithered into a cut on Conor's wrist and was slowly moving up.
Irene sighed. What threat is Erdas facing today?
John's POV
"John!" John had been walking out of his house when he looked up in surprise.
Standing in front of him were George and Riley. When John had taken a break from being a Greencloak for a while, he never went back to his home where his father was and instead has moved into the country. Riley managed to visit him every week along with his brother, George but he was not expecting them to come visit today.
"George, Riley," John said, "Not expecting you guys to come early."
"Believe me," Riley said, her gaze serious, "We wouldn't have come early if it weren't this important."
Riley's serious tone made John feel uneasy, "Is something wrong back in Greenhaven?"
George and Riley exchanged a glance, "Not just Greenhaven but Erdas."
Before John could say anything, George handed him a letter. He unrolled the letter and read.
Dear Keepers in Eura,
Evertree is sick and Great Beasts are being summoned back to life,
Will explain more at the Evertree.
-Lenori
"That doesn't sound good," John mumbled.
"I know we told you to take as much time as you want," George said, "but we need you right now, John. Erdas needs us once again and we can't do it without you."
"Who said i'm not going," John sighed, "I wish I could have my break."
"It's been one year," Riley replied, "Do you seriously need more time?"
"What happened to 'taking as much time as you want?" John asked, "Don't worry, i'm coming. Let me get my stuff."
He went back inside his house and went up his room to start packing. Once he had finished, he spotted his Greencloak hanging from the rack with his sword on the table nearby. John sighed and wore his Greencloak then took his sword.
"Back to being a Greencloak," John sighed, "And back to being a Keeper."
Shane's POV
Shane was saying, "Remember, your name is-"
"Seriously. I don't need a name," Eilene snapped, "I'm not officially a Redcloak."
Ever since that night, Eilene had agreed to help him but had not agreed to become an official Redcloak. Sure, she wore the Redcloak but she refused to wear a white mask, only a clothed mask, covering her face except for the eyes.
"So you're just going to walk up to them and say, 'hey guys, it's me Eilene," Shane said, trying to imitate her voice but clearly failing, "I somehow survived the ship but if you don't believe that then you should believe that I have somehow been risen back to life like those Great Beasts."
Eilene sighed, frustrated and annoyed, "It's not Eilene anymore. It's Lin."
"Yes, that's what I was going to say," Shane said, "Your name is Lin."
"Yes but they'll still see me as Eilene," she said, "Why am I even going back?"
"Because you know why the Evertree is sick," he answered, "You know what the Wyrm is. Your father knew as well and all the answers are in that book."
Eilene sighed, "I wish I just died then to see them again."
"Well, you haven't, thanks to us," Shane replied, "And sooner or later, you know you have to meet them again. You are in fact, one of the Keepers of Greenhaven."
"Not anymore," Eilene said, "I'm a Keeper of the Redcloaks."
Eilene- I mean Lin, is now a Redcloak apparently. How's that for my first chapter? Please vote and leave a comment on what you think. Stay tuned for the next chapters!
