Since this is the last chapter then, then it will be longer than usual. And I lied, next chapter is the last chapter!

Riley's POV

They started walking through the entrance of the building and right in the middle was a compass that looked like it was floating.

"Wow, I never thought that it was going to be this easy," Jef said, already making his way towards it.

Zoey quickly dragged him back, almost making him stumble, "What are you doing? It might be a trap to lure us in."

"Well how are we going to find out if we don't do something?" Jef snapped.

"Okay, how about some of us go while the others stay here?" Riley suggested.

"I'll go because Breeze can help me with speed," Jef volunteered.

"I'll go as well," Ivan added, "And I think it's better if only the two of us will go."

Irene and Zoey didn't look like they want to argue while Riley nodded reluctantly. The boys started walking towards the compass slowly.

"I'm going to see if I can spot Essix to make sure that she knows we're here," Irene said, walking back out.

Ivan and Jef soon made it to the compass and nothing had happened. Jef gave a thumbs up as Ivan grabbed the compass. The second he touched it, the ground started to tremble. Riley spotted arrows being shot at them and rocks beginning to fall from above. Ivan and Jef started running towards them as the floor started falling apart.

"Quick, run," Zoey called to them.

Just then, Ivan accidently tripped and the compass went flying out of his hands. Jef tried to run towards it but the gap between him and the compass increased making him stop. Ivan got up and ran for the compass, snatching it up and running for his life.

"Quick, get out," Jef yelled to them.

Riley and Zoey hesitated until they were sure they had reached safely. Then they ran outside, almost bumping into an alarmed Irene.

"What just happened?" Irene exclaimed.

"It's a trap alright," Ivan gasped, "but we got the compass."

"Now it's time to meet at the center," Jef added.

"I just hope that the others had made it back," Riley mumbled.

They kept on walking, triggering less traps until they finally reached the middle. On the other side, she spotted the other group coming out from another entrance. They all met at the middle where there was a small fountain with no water.

"Hey guys, we found the compass," Zoey told them.

"Really? Cause we got another compass," Abeke replied, showing then the compass.

Riley walked over to Ivan who had the compass and inspected it. Behind it was the constellation, Ursa Major, just like the other compasses

"Does your compass have the constellation of Ursa Major?" Riley asked.

"Um, i'm not really good with my constellations but there is a constellation on here," Rollan answered.

"Why are their two compasses?" Shane wondered, half to himself.

Before anyone could reply, something was crushing Riley's spine. Pain shot through her as she fell down. She could hear her companions screaming in pain as well. This time, it was much stronger as the pain kept on hitting. It took a little longer for it to stopped and it took her a while for the pain to ebb away.

"Watch out!" She heard Shane warned and she forced herself to look up to see an eagle diving right towards them.

Zoey quickly rolled out the way as the eagle scratched empty air.

"Quick, we need to get out of here," Abeke yelled.

She hadn't noticed but the ground and the walls all around them began to shake and fall once more. The whole place was collapsing!

"Quick, follow me," Rollan ordered who took of in the direction to where Essix was flying.

They ran as fast as they could, jumping over gaps and dogding falling walls. She could hear the eagle screech very loudly behind them. There was a roar and a huge polar bear had burst through the wall in front of them.

"This way," Rollan said, turning a sharp left.

They kept on running until they somehow burst out the huge maze. Riley stopped cold. Right in front of them was Zerif, an evil grin on his face.

"Nice to see you again, Keepers," Zerif greeted, "And of course, the Redcloak."

Ivan's Spirit Animal, Navi gave out a growl.

"Oh and Ivan is it?" Zerif added, "My soon to be Keeper slave. Perfect of you to join my side."

"I will never join your side," Ivan fired.

"Oh you will," Zerif replied coldly, "It's just a matter of time before you accept the freedom and join me of making Erdas a better place."

Before Zerif could make another move, Abeke had shot an arrow right at him but Zerif managed to dodge the shot. Abeke was about to fire another arrow when Shane motioned for her to stop. Just then, Redcloaks came out of the jungl and had surrounded Zerif.

"Quick," Shane ordered, "Worthy, come with me. Stead, make sure he doesn't make it to the ship."

The Redcloak named Worthy started running right behind them as they made their way towards the ship. Riley glanced one last time and saw Zerif battling some of the Redcloaks, his Great Beasts fighting nearby. They quickly boarded Tellun's Pride III and Riley guessed that the Redcloaks fighting Zerif would use the Redcloak ship. The ship started sailing away from the Place of Desolation.

"That was close," Zoey mumbled.

"So where to next?" Kirat asked.

"Where the compass leads us next," Shane said, studying both compasses, "And it looks like they're both pointing the same way. To Nilo."

Riley glanced back at the Place of Desolation. How had Zerif managed to find out where they went next? She recalled how he managed to find where the Great Beasts were summoned. Does the Wyrm somehow give him senses to where the Great Beasts are?

Be prepared for the last chapter everyone! For book two anyways.

Will they solve the prophecy and the dreams? Will they find the talisman? Will they reunite once more? What will happen to John?
