Irene's POV

Irene didn't know where she was. She saw flashes of images and words she couldn't make out. She saw a black egg encased in big roots. Then the image changed and she saw a glittering staff. She gasped as she realized the Staff of Cycles. Images flashed again and she saw one lone star in the night sky that was suddenly broken in half. One stayed above ground while the other went deeper underground.

"Irene, wake up," she jolted awake and saw Zoey, "We're here. We've reached the Place of Desolation."

Zoron's POV

"Here we are," Haley announced, "The Sulfur Sea."

As they emerged out of the tunnel, Zoron saw some sort of black water that seemed to stretch for miles and miles away.

"So, how are we supposed to cross?" Zoron asked.

"Usually there would be people living by the Sulfur Sea, ready to take us across to the Evertree," Haley replied, "but i'm not sure what happened to the people there so we'll just have to find some materials to build a small boat."

"Do you know which way is the Evertree?" Hope asked.

"Not really," Haley admitted, "I've only been there once but good thing we have this compass leading us there."

"Good," George said, "Because the sooner we get there, the sooner we get to destroy the Wyrm."

He glanced back at his brother John and added, "And the sooner we get to save John."

As they split up to find materials, Hope walked beside him and spoke, "You know, i've been having these weird dreams lately."

"About what?" Zoron asked, curiously.

"I've been getting dreams of this weird black egg that's trapped in between roots of a huge tree," Hope replied, "Then I see a glittering staff and then a broken star that's been cut in half. One part went below while the other stayed above ground."

"This might sound really weird but," Zoron started uneasily, "I've been dreaming of the same thing."

"What do you think it means?" Hope asked.

"I'm not sure," Zoron replied, "but if the both of us had the same dream, don't you think the others might've had them as well?"

Riley's POV

Riley was walking through the hallway towards Ivan's room. She was worried how far the parasite had gone.

Riley knocked on his door and said, "Ivan, it's me."

To her relief, he answered, "Come in."

She walked in and saw Ivan lying on the bed, "Hey, how have you been?"

"Bored and being miserable," Ivan replied.

Riley looked at him, silently asking if she could check on the parasite. Ivan gritted his teeth and slowly pulled up his sleeve. The parasite moved but only for a few inches, much to her relief.

"Well, other than checking to see how you are," Riley said, "I'm here to tell you that we've reached the Place of Desolation."

"I'm not sure if I should come with you guys," Ivan replied uncertainly.

"Nonsense," Riley exclaimed, "You're still part of the Keepers. You're still part of our team and we aren't going to go without you. Nothing has changed, Ivan."

"A lot has changed," Ivan said, "I'm going to turn into one of Zerif's slaves and when I do, i'll...i'll kill you... Remember what Lin said? Once you get infected, you lose."

"You haven't turned yet," Riley insisted, "And as long as you haven't turned yet, you will always be Ivan. You haven't lost this fight Ivan and we're not going to give up that easily. Please, do it for Erdas."

Ivan was silent then he nodded slowly, "I'll do it for Erdas. And i'll do it for you."

John's POV

John kept on twisting and turning. They were already on their little boat and had managed to fit inside. They've been sailing for hours and the others have gone to sleep. John kept on turning until sleep finally came. He immediately saw what looked like a black egg, trapped inside huge roots. Then he saw a glittering staff and a lone star cut in half. One part went underground while the other went to the farthest corners of Erdas.

Just then, he heard a snarl and he looked up to see one of the Many right inside the boat. John quickly grabbed his sword and ran at the Many, feeling unusual hatred go through him. The Many snarled at him as he launched himself at John. John swung and striked with his sword as the infected somehow managed to dodge him. The infected grabbed his shoulders but he quickly kicked him back. He felt more hands on him but he managed to wriggle free as he launched himself at the infected. The infected rolled away and had grabbed a staff, swiping hard and his sword fell out of his grasp.

John then launched himself at the infected again, grabbing the staff and taking it with such force that it made the infected fall back down, its back at the edge of the boat. John swiped, the infected dogded but John quickly swiped it back. The staff hit the infected's head hard and fell down the water with a splash.

The next thing he knew was that he was shoved hard to the side, bumping his head hard. He groaned, his vision blurry as he saw George shout something before jumping put the boat. Zoron hesitated and glanced with me, fear in his eyes before jumping after him.

What just happened? John thought as he glanced around.

He saw Hope and Haley looking at him with fear as they quickly rushed to the side of the boat. John slowly sat hp, rubbing his head. Why did George and Zoron jump off the boat? Why were they looking at me like that?

Just then, George and Zoron resurfaced along with someone else. Hope and Haley pulled them up and John gasped as he saw who they pulled up. Laying unconcious on the boat was Eilene.

What have you done, John? And why are they all getting the same, weird dreams? Please vote and leave a comment on ehat you guys think. Stay tuned for thr next chapter!
