Alex's POV

As hard as I tried, I just could not seem to focus on doing my job today. Mia kept creeping into my mind when I least expected her to. It was strange not seeing her yet today since I usually picked her up before work. I know in about an hour I would see her to take her to her interview with August Braque.

Even though she asked me not to help her in any way with August I talked to him when Mia was not present. Our agreement was that I would be paying him to promote Mia's painting and make her famous but he would pretend that I had nothing to do with it. He was not quite sure why I would want to do something like that but he agreed since he owed me his fame. I was the one who provided him with the money and skills to promote all the artists he has.  I don't like asking people to repay me favors I do for them but in this case I needed it.

I drank the rest of my coffee which did not taste as amazing as when Mia makes it for me. There I go again thinking of her. I sighed and my family portrait caught my eye. I can't believe that I am actually in love with the girl that took one of the most important people in my life. Even though I know it's an act the way that she behaves with me, I cannot help but loving her. Every time that I think of how my plan will end my heart clenches.

I know that at the end of this, she won't be mine any longer. When I take off her mask she will have no reason to keep up her part with me. I kept my heart locked in a cage thinking it would be safe, but what I didn't know was that she owned the key. The key is in her kind smile, warm eyes, honey sweet voice and loving personality.

I had to keep going for my dad though, my hero. He did everything to make our family happy. He was the one that I had always looked up to for being so brave, hardworking and kind-hearted. He had the biggest heart and I think that was why she was able to find a space so easily. I couldn't help but give a sad smile when I thought of how dad told me for Halloween I dressed like a businessman because I wanted to look like the best superhero which to me was my dad.

I clenched my jaw to keep the tears from coming and stood up then straightened out my jacket and grabbed the car keys. I started driving to Mia's house needing to see her. Feeling the need to hold her close to me as much as possible before I had to destroy her world and dreams. I was on the right path as of now, she loves me and I know if I asked her to marry she would say yes. She is already meeting with August today which means that in about two months she will be a common name in the art industry. If my plan continues accordingly, I will end this act one year exactly from the day that we met.

I stopped on the way to her house to get her a bouquet of roses then put the tickets that I won in an envelope. Not only would I be taking her to her interview but I had a surprise planned for her.

Mia's POV

I woke up in the best mood today. I was basically humming along to happy melodies as I got dressed, brushed my teeth and did my hair. I knew Alex would be here in a few minutes because he is always so punctual so I grabbed my handbag and took one last look in the mirror.

I smiled widely when I heard my doorbell ring then basically ran to open the door. He raised his right eyebrow with a smile on his face and held out a bouquet of roses to me.

I smiled even bigger and gently took it as he said "good morning, you seem a little excited today eh?"

"A little more than excited, and thank you these are beautiful babe. Let me place them in a vase and I'll be ready to go"

I held his hand and pulled him in with me but he held his stance and looked at me with his eyebrow raised, "aren't you forgetting something?"

I looked down confused thinking maybe I forgot to put on pants or something ridiculous when he smiled and pointed to his lips, "morning kiss" he prodded.
