My mind was overwhelmed by yesterday. In fact, I'm still confused about what happened. Regardless, I'll try to get a grip of sanity to get me through school tomorrow.

The next day, I was discharged from the hospital; around eight at night. However, before I left, a nurse came to talk to me.
"Tatsumi," she starts,"You should really hydrate more often so you won't faint again."
I laughed a bit at her comment. "I will, don't worry," I replied, still slightly laughing.
Soon after, I left the hospital and walked home; making sure I was well hydrated. My footsteps thudded softly against the pavement, faintly echoing off the block wall lining the path. My mind kept wandering back to yesterday and how my unexpected visitors acted oddly. It was almost as if they weren't permitted to speak about some dark secret. I usually wouldn't be so disturbed, but yesterday's events practically screamed "uncontrollable discomfort." I had become so wrapped up in my own thoughts, that I barely noticed I had arrived back home; where I could take a nap in my own bed again.

The nap from yesterday ended up keeping me out cold until 10am, which is definitely after class started.
I hurriedly shoved my breakfast in my mouth, and grabbed my school bag; almost dropping all the contents of the bag onto the floor. My legs never moved quite this fast before as I flew toward the school building; which was growing ever closer. I barely stopped myself from barreling into the door.
When I finally sat down at my desk, Mr. Hiro shot me a look that could even kill a god. He probably decided not to address my tardiness publicly, due to his clear interest in another matter.
Mr. Hiro then made a surprising announcement. One I can only assume was the reason that got me out of an embarrassing lecture. We would be having a new student in class today.
"This is Rin Tachibana, please welcome her and treat her kindly," said Mr. Hiro in his usual, bland, monotone voice.
Rin walked to her new desk, which was directly behind mine and sat down, almost gracefully. Class resumed and I felt that unsettling pull in my gut again. I shrugged it off -hoping to be rid of it- and waited for class to be over. The time seemed to fly much quicker than usual, but I did attend less of school due to lateness. As soon as class was over, Rin came to talk to me.
"Hey, I'm Rin. What's your name?" she said, with a mysterious curiosity.
"My name is Tatsumi and it's nice to meet you," I replied with a smile, feeling kind of uneasy; especially while talking to pretty girls like her.
"I assume you've heard rumors about class-3's mysterious curse?" she asked me, keeping her voice low and eyeing people nearby suspiciously.
"I did hear about it from my friend Shu, but I just thought he was joking," I replied, with obvious concern weaving it's way into my voice.
"I've heard the curse has been haunting class-3 for 36 years now. Though, anyone knowledgeable calls it "The Calamity". I actually moved here to investigate the curse," Rin explained. "As far as I know, no one has told you the full story...right?"
I silently shook my head while I thought about the curse. She told me all that she knew about Class-3's legendary calamity. Rin continued for another hour before mentioning these words, "It has begun".
