As a thank you to the two amazing people who assisted me in writing this chapter and helped me want to keep writing, I hereby declare that my first chapter in a few months be dedicated to them. phantomhive1234 and whydo14 these two are my best friends and wrote great stories themselves. Please check out their work if ya can...maybe hit the vote button a few times to annoy them with vote notifications. Hehe. I apologize for the delay with chapter again and I do hope that I will be writing more often again. Enjoy the chapter!

We ran until we collapsed near the edge of the forest. While most of the rabid dogs stayed behind to feast on Ryuko's remains, there were still some who followed us. One second after another passes by. Our hearts become stricken with fear, increasing by each second that passes by. We can no longer run away from that horror which began to close in from behind. Rin struggles in getting up, as did I; however, the muscles in my body were unyielding to my imperative desire to move. Had I been  paralyzed from fatigue or fear? I still do not know in which answer the truth lies.  I look back into the shadows of the chaotic abyss of trees. The sound of distant screaming came to an abrupt stop and the last echoes of Ryuko's cries rang through the trees. Menacing howls came from the hellish beasts that had closed in from behind. I glance over to Rin and then back again at the forest. I close my eyes for a brief moment, trying to think of a plan. I hastily searched my thoughts until I found exactly what I needed to do. Once again, I glanced over at Rin. I stood up as quickly as my body would allow me and moved quickly toward her. Grabbing her arm, I began to run completely out of the forest. "I can't run anymore, Tatsumi!" Rin gasped. "Neither can I but I refuse to leave you alone! Do you even realize how dangerous it is to be out here?" I replied, exhausted. Rin then ignores her fatigue and keeps running by my side until we reach my house. The howling becomes quieter and there was an eerie stillness. Now near my house, I collapse to the ground, face first. Rin fell down right next to me and passes out. Turning my head towards her, I found myself lost in her resplendent beauty. Her long, dark yet light shade of brown hair tumbled over her shoulders and onto the ground. I could hear her breathing, slow yet even. Smiling, I slowly stood up. "You look like you need some rest," I said aloud while she remained unconscious. I picked up Rin gently, carrying her on my back, and walked to my door. I opened the door with one hand and walked into the house, shutting the door behind me. With what little energy I had, I carried her into my living room and set her on the couch. As she slept on the couch, I pulled a blanket over her. "Sleep well, Rin," I whispered. I began to walk away but was stopped when she grabbed my sleeve and held it tightly. "Don't leave me," Rin murmured in her sleep. I looked back at her, astonished. "Please, don't leave me again.." she trailed off, sleep taking over. Tears began to slowly roll down her cheeks. I sat next to her and put her head on my lap gently, stroking the top of her head and wiping away her tears. I slouched a little, my head resting on the top of the couch. I closed my eyes briefly and let out a deep sigh. Rin woke up, startled. She looked at me with concern in her stunning brown and green eyes. "Are you alright? What's wrong?" I asked Rin, worry in my voice. Realizing that she was crying, Rin quickly sat up. "It's nothing," she said quickly as she wiped the remaining tears from her face. "Are you sure? While you were asleep you grabbed my sleeve and told me not to leave you again. Did something happen?" I questioned. "I said that? Well, then I guess I should tell you the truth now. About the real reason I came to Yomiyama." She replied, frightened.
