Chapter 14 - Midnight Feast

Sammie's POV

A couple more minutes left on the prawns. It was mine and Austin's turn to cook dinner tonight and thanks to Austin not bothering to turn up; I have to cook fresh tomato, prawn and asparagus risotto by myself.

"Mhmm what's cooking, good looking?" I felt arms go around my waist and the familiar voice whispering in my ear.

"Fresh tomato, prawn and asparagus risotto" I tried not to sound angry

"Well that sounds yummy"

"Oh and if you wouldn't mind please get your hands off of me"

Austin removed his arms from my waist and moved in front of me.

"Sorry, I couldn't help with dinner."

"COULDN'T HELP! I'M STILL COOKING!" I was angry now

"Chill babe, I can help out"

"One; I'm not your babe and two; don't tell me what to do"

I watched as Austin added the tomatoes and asparagus into the rice.

"Do you know this recipe?"

He stopped stirring the dish to look me in the eyes. "My mum used to cook this dish for me when I was little"

Wow the big bad wolf is a soft little puppy on the inside.

"Babe, if you want to kiss me all you have to do is ask"

I didn't even realise that I had moved closer to Austin, so close are nose would be touching if I took another step forward. I backed away and brush a strand if my hair behind my right ear and continued to cook.

Austin was about to say something, when India walked in.

"Mhmm what's smells so nice?"

"That would be my fresh tomato, prawn and asparagus risotto"

"I hope it taste as could as it smells" India playing winked

"If it doesn't your still eating it" I playing winked back

India and I laughed and Austin was still standing there weirdly.

India and I both stopped laughing and the kitchen was no silent again.

"Well I better go finish up on that Spells assessment, that's due tomorrow." India looked down at her feet.

"Spells assessment?" I questioned her. "You're not a witch. Why would you need to do a spell assessment?"

"My teacher thought it would be a good idea for me to instead of doing an assessment on vampires and their powers, I had to do something else."

"So you choose to do a witch?" Austin looked at India confused.

"Well, yeah. It was either a witch or a fairy and I thought since I have two witches living with me, I could get some inside information and do my assessment on that."

"So how's that working for you?" I asked

"It is going not so good. Neither you nor Raven had done anything that could help me with my assessment." India stated

I had to help India. She was my friend after all.

"Umm I think, my spell book and a book on my family's history are on the second self of my bookcase." I suggested to India

"Aww thanks Sammie!" She gave me a cold hug

"Gosh you're cold"

"You better get used to it" India chuckled

I played with my food for the fourth time. I don't know why I'm not eating, I mean I eat a lot for a girl who is always playing sports and stuff but I don't seem to be gaining weight it's the complete opposite of that.

"Sis, are you ok?" Hayden whispered into my ear

"Mhmm" I turned my head in Hayden's direction.

"Are you ok, you don't seem to be your normal hungry self?" Everyone was now looking at me with worried eyes.

"Just not hungry" I stated

"Then more for me" Raven chuckled. "I love this stuff"

"Thanks for making it Sammie and Austin" everyone said at the same time

I nodded.

"Don't just sit there and take that." Austin looked at me. "I didn't do anything and you just let them say that"

"Well you did help at the end" I looked a bit sad into Austin's eyes

"Well that doesn't matter." Austin faced everyone else. "Guys, Sammie did all the work. I didn't cook a cent."

Everyone looked from Austin to me and back at Austin.

"Sammie worked so hard to make this and she deserves the credit." Austin stated

I was shocked. I mean, Austin the big bad werewolf has a little bit of heart in him.

India's POV

Who knew Austin had a thing for Sammie, umm all of us! It's not hard to tell, the way he looks at her, the way he talks to her, gosh maybe she could be his 'mate'. You know that mate thing werewolves have right?? Well I'm guessing you do.

Everyone had finished the awkward dinner, and Raven and Teddy said they would wash up. So Amey, Sammie and I decide on girl to the upstairs living room to watch a movie, a girlie movie since Amey is scared of horror movies. The start of '27 dresses' started to play, and all of us girls had popcorn and a blanket.

It was total silence, apart from the movie and the crunch of someone eating the popcorn. It was getting to a really good part of the movie, when Sammie paused it.

"I just remembered I have homework, that's due tomorrow to work on."

Raven, Amey and I just nodded and Sammie walked away leaving the popcorn but taking the blanket with her.

Sammie's POV

I had enough of watching chic flicks, they are full of romance.

I got to mine and India's bedroom, and closed the door behind me. I walked over to my window and opened it. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes before mumbling a quick flight spell I learnt from my spell book and I jumped out of the window.

I opened my eyes just in time to see the ground a couple of centimetres away from my face.

"Crap!" I landed on my feet just in time.

I walked the rest of the way towards Prince's stable. That's where no drama will happen, no love, nothing. It will give me time to think, time to decide if coming here wad such a good idea.
