I sat on a bench, lonely as such until the day I felt your touch….

Your hands were soft, your voice so low but I managed to mumble Hello…

Dressed in form, eyes comforting and warm and then came the thundering storm…

I don’t know when I fell for you first….

Maybe it was between the lights of the city or the silence of the streets

but as we laid upon my sheets I knew we would be ready.

It happened kind of fast, one look, one glance and our mind were already made

We made plans to run, to hide, to sing to one another in the rain and to kiss in the streets…

We promised love

We promised hope

We promised to never sink this boat

and stay married forever

It happened so fast, one look, one glance, and as I blinked your eyes closed

Our noses touched and your breath slowed, I shivered as much as a snowman on a cold winter’s day, but you just laughed and said it was okay

“just stay…..” you asked “forever dear, for as I stand so close and right here

I know that it will be just me and you, but that I think we can get through, and

the hard times, there’s plenty to come, so lets just make love and have some fun

until the day our child is born… which will be soon because Surprise! this baby is apart of you”

We’re married now, standing proud

No one can touch us now

hand in hand

lips on lips

Hearts to hearts

and bodies against bodies

What was your’s in now mine

What was mine is now yours

and what was mine and yours

now become ours, as we dance,

and sing, and pray and cling.

I married you today, but you were so distant

astray…. and you come to me a say

We have no regrets, we have no fears

Sure there will be pain and obviously tears

but we’re in this to the end…your my husband, lover,

and best friend… plus we made a promise.

“darling dear, I love you so, I feel it in my fingers

and in my toes, I feel it high I feel it low, but I just

don’t want to let you go…. is it okay to be this nervous dear?

For on this day and in this year, we became a union as such

A union as one; but once the fun is over… what is to come?”
