"Hiccup! Over here, Haddock!"

Hiccup emerged from his house. We'd said goodbye to the gang earlier, with the twins giving me a stink bomb or two, and Snotlout being a jerk to Hiccup. Fishlegs had warned me about Hiccup being an accident-prone.

I laughed as he stumbled over with an overly-packed yak-bladder suitcase. It looked as if it would explode at any moment, the rectangular shape almost resembling a sphere. Two seconds later, my suspicions were proved. The case erupted like a volcano, spitting out clothes, books, pens and lots of other stuff all over the ground." Oh Thor. Oh Gods." He sprawled on the ground, picking up things.

"Geez, Haddock, ever heard of packing light?" I bent over to pick up an overstuffed drawstring bag full of charcoal."Really? A whole bagful?"

There was yelling not so far behind.

I used my peripheral view to see Gobber and Stoick arguing near the Haddocks' house.

"Packing light is impossible. I mean, come on! you never know when you'll need something like these!"

"You're going on a trip to Latia for a week, not escaping from a giant dragon. I doubt you'll need... What is this, anyway?" I picked up a large metal tube. It was smooth and shiny, with a hole on top. A lever was on its side.

"Oh. It's a project that I've been working on for Gobber. It's for grabbing things at a far distance. With the right spring calibration and...Blah...Blah...Blah..." Well, he didn't really say "blah blah blah", I just sorta zoned out. While he explained his 'pet project'. And constantly changing the designs with some unfortunate undying passion. I think my eyes glazed over, so I turned my attention to the Stoick/Gobber show.

"AH, I told ya Gobber, I can't just leave this place and go on some vacation! Plus, Freddo has all the answers he needs! And Hiccup will be safe! On Latia, WHERE I AM NOT GOING!" Stoick bellowed.

Gobber just rolled his eyes. " Boar-headed. Just like Val-"

"Don't mention her! Not here! Not now!" Stoick's face was red now, like an angry Santa with a sunburn.

"You're going to Latia, AND you're going to spend some time with your heir, if you don't want him to go all rebel-like when he's older. You two have grown apart. Way apart. So take your bag, get on that stinking ship, and GO! Freddo 'as already invited you!" He tossed Stoick a large bag big enough for the entire Gang to fit in and have a party. With dragons.

I trembled, thinking that Gobber had finally crossed the line. He was so dead.

Instead, Stoick sighed, took the bag and muttered 'Why am I even friends with you?' then climbed up to the deck with Gobber following.

Hiccup stopped his rambling. He looked stunned. "D-d-dad? Y-you're coming too?" He sounded so excited, so hopeful, so... Afraid of his dad saying 'Oh, no! I'm just gonna sit 'ere and send you off! You know, and stay all stoic.'

"AH. Um...ER..." Was all he said."yesIamcomingohthistripispointless." He said in an inaudible voice.

"What?" We said in unison.

Gobber leaned against the ship's mast, all sassy-like. "He's coming, ya both. An' he's going to have a fun time on Latia, where you'll see Vacation-Stoick like never before!"

"Yay. Fun." Stoick twirled his finger in the air in a defeated way.

My father then chose that moment to pop up from Asgard-knows-where.

"All set? Ah, Stoick, glad to see you here in the flesh! I'd take it that you've accepted my invitation?"

Stoick buried his head in his hands and groaned.

Dad stifled a laugh as Gobber rolled his eyes at the sight of Stoick.

"Yes, 'e did. Now I'll be off then. Be good, Stoick."

"Yes, Gobber."

"Bye kids."

"Bye."

He hopped off the ship. Which is impressive considering that he only has half of his limbs.

And we sailed off, with Gobber waving on the shores.

There was an awkward silence as my dad whistled an off-key tune while fiddling with the sails.

"YESYESYES!!!!! You're actually coming!" Hiccup shrieked with delight." We're going to have so much fun! We'll go fishing, and running and dragon hunting- Just like you wanted to! I-I-I...."

He was so excited he started hiccuping.

"Settle down, Haddock. You'll break the ship." I warned, though laughing.

The whole crew took one look at the hiccuping Hiccup and burst into peals of laughter.

Hiccup turned red.

In the midst of laughter, I could've sworn that I saw Stoick crack a tiny grin.

A/N So Sorry I'm late! That's all I have to say.

What do you think?
