Emmalyn POV

I look at my schedule. Four classes are done! Only one detention! Success! I do a small happy dance, ignoring the weird looks I get. I wait in line for my cafeteria lunch. It smells delicious. The cafeteria food here is great. Thank goodness! I have heard so many horror stories about cafeteria food.

"Nice dance move." Someone says behind me.

"Huh?" I glance at the speaker.

"Aaron, right?" I recognize him from my first class. Of course, I recognize him. We are detention buddies.

"Yep. Emma right?"

"Yeah. Thanks. My dance skills are off the sizzle!" I laugh jokingly.

"Sizzle?" He gives me a weird look.

"Sizzle." I confirm."It's finally lunchtime!"

"That's why you're so happy?"

"Yeah! It's my favorite time of the day!"

"How are you liking your classes?"

"Well, besides Beastly, I mean Eastly, it's fine. I notice you are in three of my last four classes. It's a bummer we aren't sitting next to each other!"

"Yeah, what's your schedule?"

"I have Algebra 2H, English 1H, Biology H, Spanish 2H, Art 1, Cheer."

"You're in cheer? Cool. Oh, I guess we only had Algebra, English, and Spanish together."

"What's your fifth and sixth period?"

"History and Football."

"You play football?"

"Yeah, my brothers used to play it. They got me into it."

We pay for our lunch. I look around for somewhere to sit. 'Hmmmmm, where to sit?' We are still pretty early to lunch. The tables aren't even halfway filled yet.

"Want to sit over there?" Aaron asks, pointing to an empty table.

"Sure!" I shrug. He seems like a nice guy. I hadn't seen a single one of my friends all day. I am also too lazy to find them anyway.

Today's awesome lunch special is breadstick, Italian dressing salad, and spaghetti. The breadstick is a little stale, but overall, it's not bad.

"So what middle school did you go to?" I ask.

"It was some school in Malibu. You probably have never heard of it."

"Oh, so you moved here?"

"Yeah."

"How do you like it? Why move here to Sabina Beach?" I ask curiously.

"It's chill. The food is great, the people are nice, and I've already made a new friend," he says. "Well, I had some family stuff going on, so I'm going to be attending high school here. I'm living with my cousin right now."

"Really?" I fake gasp. "You made a new friend! I pity him, or is it a her? Who's your cousin?"

"Yeah, poor them!" He plays along with my joke.

"And-" I am about to add on when I am lifted out of my seat into a bone-crushing hug.

"Will you quit that?" I pout, knowing who is the culprit. That's just the way he greets me. Well, he has done that ever since I told him to stop. He does it to annoy me. Honestly, I don't mind his hugs.

"Nope!" Drake cheerfully says. "Come sit with us!"

I look toward their table. Of course, it's all full of football players and cheerleaders. I roll my eyes. Typical. Jason is the varsity football captain and quarterback. "Hah. Thanks for the offer, but no thank you. I am enjoying my company with Aaron here. Plus, Sunny might still be mad at me."
