"Where were you?" Jason shoots me a worry glance at me as soon as I enter the front door. I made the littlest noises possible; however, he somehow heard me.

"I slept over at one of my friend's house." I cringe, knowing it sounds unbelievable.

"Which friend? Why didn't you call me? Do you know what time it is? Do you know how worried I was? You are so lucky Siobhan and dad aren't home." He interrogates me. "And Drake was the one who notified me that you were alive and well!"

"I know, I know. I'm sorry! It was a GIRL friend that you haven't met before. We lost track of time. I didn't know how late it was until now." I felt guilty. I also stressed the gender of my friend so he wouldn't start being all overprotective. I would have called him as soon as possible, but I completely forgot about it. My mind was concentrating on getting out of that wretched place and away from Zach. Zach creeps me out more than I like. I realized Jason had mentioned Drake. Man, what a traitor he was.

"It's nighttime!" Jason huffed.

"I'm here and safe!" I refuted and started upstairs to my room. I was exhausted and just wanted to go rest up. I've had a rocky last couple days. Resting on my bed sounded very appealing.

"Hey!" Jason yells. "I'm still talking to you!"

"Yeah, I'm listening." I say halfheartedly. My main objective right now is changing and going to bed.

I must have appeared tired, for he leaves my alone. I enter my room and fling myself on the bed. Rather lazily, I rummage around my bed for pajamas. I did not feel like turning on the lights, so it was completely dark.

"It's here somewhere." I search for my pjs. "Aha!" It is, of course, under my pillow. After I change clothes, I lie down on the bed, staring at my ceiling glow in the dark stars.

"End of the month." I whisper. "That is in two weeks time." Will I be able to win? I take pride in my martial art skills, but perhaps I am cocky. I have never seriously been in a match with someone. Well, I have. However, the people I go against seem to go easy on me since they are usually my dad's trainers or fighters.

"Ugh!" I groan in frustration. "Why must I make such rash decisions sometimes? Oh well....I'll think about it tomorrow." I drift to sleep.

You other brothers can't deny
That when a girl walks in with an itty bitty waist..."

"What in the world?" I say groggily. That is not my alarm clock. Where is it coming from? I glance around, trying to listen for the source of the annoying song. I realize it is my phone, which is on my desk across the room. I bundle myself up with my blanket, snatch the phone, and jump back onto my bed.

Drake incoming....

Who changed his ringtone? It used to be "California Gurls," by Katy Perry. My thumb hovers over the ignore button. I am really tempted to press it. I'm still pissed at him. I choose not to answer, and I promptly tap the red button.

"Serves him right," I huff. I feel a little accomplished over this tiny action. I hop out of my bed and go downstairs for breakfast. I grin as I run down the stairs. I can smell the heavenly aroma of pancakes and bacon. Jason is cooking in the kitchen. He makes amazing bacon. It's always perfectly crisp. I sneak up to him, trying to scare him.

"BOO!" I shriek. Jason jumps quite noticeably in the air, turning around abruptly. Unfortunately for me, he has his spatula in his hand, and it whacks me on the arm.

"HOLY MACKERELS!" I yelp, clutching my arm. Gah, it burns. I run to the sink and put running cold water on it.

"Shit! You scared me Emmy." Jason carefully scans my arm to look at the damage.

"That was the intention." I wince. Then, I point to my arm. "Well, this wasn't."

"What happened?" Drake comes running into the kitchen. I glare at him indiscreetly.

"Nothing." I say in a clipped tone.

"She got burned." Jason replies at the same time.

"Let me see." Drake walks towards Jason and I.

"It's fine. I can take care of it." I motion to the running water. "It's getting better anyways."

"What are you doing here?" I ask Drake. They both notice my cold behavior, but they don't say anything. They probably think I'm on my period, and am PMSing. No, I am not.

"Breakfast?"Drake shrugs. More like he is here to spy on me!

"Sure," I can hear the doubt in my voice. I survey the damage on my skin. It is not too bad. It's a small first degree burn. The running water helped. It's only a little bit red now.

"Thanks Sunny." I grab my breakfast and head to the dining room. I eat as fast as I can, not wanting to face Drake.

My relief only lasts so long. As I head to my room, I notice Drake standing at the door.

"What do you want?" I snap.

"Okay, you have every right to be mad, but please listen to what I have to say." He pleads.

I glare at him.

"It was Zach's order. I cannot just disobey him. Last time someone did that, they got a little "talking" to." He shivers every so slightly. "Do you know how Zach is?"

"That doesn't explain your behavior." I cross my arms. "If I recall correctly, you were chuckling. It didn't look like you had any trouble at all kidnapping me."

"I wasn't kidnapping you." He responds.

"Then, what were you doing?" I challenge.

"Borrowing you?" His voice goes a little higher.

I merely raise an eyebrow at him.

"Look, I just wanted to let you know that I didn't want to do it. Okay, sure I volunteered. That's only because if someone else did it, then he would have really beat you up." He sighs. He's just making this worse.

"Right." I roll my eyes. "I wasn't beat up enough in our fight?" I can feel the bruises on my body. Thank goodness none of it was on my face. Otherwise, Jason would have freaked.

"I went easy on you." He shrugs. Oh, if that didn't anger me more. Now, I feel like I'm going to lose the match at the end of the month. I went all out, and he went easy on me!

I say nothing. I simply walk into my room, ignoring his presence.

"Em..." He opens his mouth to say something. "Im sorry. I really didn't want you to be brought into this."

"It's too late." I spit the words.

I slam the door in his face.

"It's time to train." I crack my knuckles and sigh. The things I do for Jason.

Short and simple. A little bit of a filler.

Finals are coming up for me, so I'll be studying. The Next update will be in two weeks maybe. I'll try to see if it can be earlier, but no promises.

Oh yeah! I'm making a new story called "Chance Encounter." It features Emma and Jason's godmother. It will be solely on her though. Check it out if you want (:
