Chapter 14~ Semi Sad Chapter

Jason's pov

We were at one of my shows. My opener Eric Church was singing right now. Megan runs over and wants me to pick her up so I set my guitar down and pick her up. "Mama told me I'm gonna be a big sister!" She cries, excitedly. I smile. "You sure are princess." Lisa and Morgan join us. I'm so excited. I can't wait for this to happen. "First doctor's appointment is in three days!" Lisa says just as excited as I am. Then I'm announced to stage so I kiss Lisa's cheek and grab my guitar.

*later*

I sang a lullaby to Megan and she fell asleepb so I covered her up. Lisa was reading a book in her lazy chair, her blonde hair like a curtain across her face. "Hey Lisa, what ya readin'?" "Baby names." She says, putting her hair in a ponytail. I lay down, tired and hear the book close. I wrap my arms around Lisa and she rests her head on my chest. We're gonna be parents in nine months.

*the appointment*

Lisa and I wait for the doctor. "If we have a boy what do ya wanna name him?" She asks, twirling some hair on her finger. I smile and hold her hand. She smiles too and the doctor walks in.

*later*

We went for a walk around the lake before heading home. "I'm so excited, Jay!" I smile and nod. "Like I always say. Good things come to those who wait!" She laughs and pats my head. "Oh don't lie Jason. I heard your conversation with Luke!" My eyes go wide. "You did?" I gape surprised. She laughs and nods, grabbing my shirt and kissing me. I wrap my arms around her waist. She jumps into my arms, her legs around my waist. She grinds against me, making my hands tense up. "Oh God Lisa." I back up, bumping into a tree. She unbuttons my shirt, her hands falling to the buckle at my jeans. I undo her bra as she drops my belt to the grass at our feet. I set her back down, slipping her shirt over her head. She tugs my jeans down til they're around my ankles. I hold her against a tree. "Oh Jason, you're the best." She whispers in my ear, her arms tight around my neck. I smile gladly. "Only cause you make me that way baby." I whisper.

*later*

Morgan and Megan were playing hide and seek with my mom when we got home. I smile and hug my mom. "The baby is perfectly healthy." I tell her when she asks how the appointment went. "Hey ma'am, ya wanna stay for dinner?" Lisa asks. "Why thank you dear I'd love to. It's better than eating alone. Am I right?" She makes it as a joke but it makes me think of dad and how he died last year after falling off a tractor. "I'll uh... Go get started on dinner." I mumble quickly exiting to the kitchen as tears threaten my eyes. I learned everything from my dad. How to be a good hunter and fisherman. How to play baseball. How to treat a woman especially. I owe it all to him. "You okay?" Lisa asks walking in. I wipe my eyes quickly but it's too late, she's seen. "You miss your dad, don't you?" I nod, sighing. "He's proud of you, Jason. You're a great man and so was he." "Not a day goes by that I don't miss him. Some days I just wanna call him up and tell him what happened that day ya know?" She nods, tearing up also. "I.... When I found out, you were pregnant, I grabbed my phone and almost dialed his number not even thinking." She hugs me. "I'm sorry about your dad." "It's nothing we can do about it now. He'd probably punch my arm right now if he saw this tear rollin' down on my face." He wouldn't want me to be sad. He'd want me to be happy! I'm having a baby! I force myself to stop crying. "Tell mom we're havin' daddy's famous chicken stir fry." I say, smiling. "The last thing that genius old man taught me before he passed." I whisper after she walks out.
