Chapter 15~ A Surprising Turn Of Events

Jason's pov

Being pregnant has gotten Lisa a little crabby so I'm taking the girls out while she relaxes. I took the girls to the park and they wanted to feed the ducks so I put a quarter into the machine for them to get the duck food. Back in my day, it was a slice of bread but hey. Then Lisa texts me. It catches me off guard and my phone slips from my hand and falls in the water! "Damn!" I gasp, getting out. Luckily it's not messed up since I got it out so fast.

L: I'm sorry about being in a temper.

J: it's fine baby. I understand.

L: I made you run out of the house!

J: no baby! You got it all wrong! I was getting the girls out of the house. They've been begging me to go to the park!"

That's technically not true but I couldn't let Lisa think that!

L: you promise?

J: I promise.

I put my phone away and sit on the bank. The girls were playing at the playground now.

Lisa's pov

I'm really glad I finally got pregnant. Jason and the girls come home. He hugs me tight. "I love you Lisa. You know that." I smile. "I do. I'm sorry." "You don't need to be sorry."

*later*

We were laying in bed discussing names. "What about Parker?" Hm... "I don't know maybe for a middle name." I reply then come up with my own. "How's Tucker?" "Eh. I'm not too into it." Dang. "I didn't think picking names would be so hard." She laughs. "And we don't know if it's a boy! It could be a girl." I rest my hand on her stomach. "Please be a boy!" I jokingly beg. She folds her pillow and tucks her hand under it. "You're the best Jay." She says. I smile and stare into her eyes. "You're perfect Lisa." "Hey Jason, what about Jessica if it's a girl?" She asks sitting up. I sit up too. "I love it baby!" She hugs me. "I'm so glad we're having a baby!" I smile and wrap my arms around her, her head on my chest. "I've been waiting for a long time."

*3 weeks later*

We go to the doctor's appointment this time Morgan and Megan are coming with us. Morgan was reading a book to Megan. I smile watching them. I hold Lisa's hand. "They're gonna be great big sisters." She whispers, smiling. "Aldean." "That's us. Come on girls." We go back to the room and Lisa sits on the table thing. "How far along?" "Almost two months." The doctor gets an ultrasound machine set up. I'm excited to see the baby. A few seconds later, I get a surprise! "Oh Mr. And Mrs. Aldean, you're having twins!" Me and Lisa lock eyes. "Twins!" She gasps wide eyed, her hand to her chest. "Yep. See baby number one and baby number two. Too early for genders though." Tears come to her eyes and I hug her tight. She laughs softly with excitement. "We gotta get another crib." She whispers. I nod and kiss her head. "I'm so glad this happened baby."

*a few days later*

Lisa and I were working on the nursery. "Ooh Jason! This is so much fun!" I swallow the lump in my throat, smiling gladly. I grab Lisa's hand. "Um I have a name idea if one of the babies is a boy." "What is it?" "Adam Benjamin." Her eyes go wide. Adam is my dad's name and Ben everyone already knows what that's from. "Oh Jason." She gasps. She hides her face like she's crying. "I love it." She says, hugging me. "But what if we have two girls?" "Then we're shit outta luck there, sweetheart." She laughs and wipes her eye. "Come on. It's getting late. Let's head to bed." I say, holding her hands. We get to our room and I change out of my jeans and put on sweats. I stretch and lay down. She turns the light off. "Goodnight." She whispers, laying down beside me. I smile and pat her head. "Goodnight princess." I whisper then a yawn catches me. Man I'm tired. I'm having twins! This is so exciting! I gotta go to sleep though which means I gotta stop thinking about it which is hard. I smile at my beautiful little Lisa. She's the light of my life. I hug her tight, her head against my chest and her hand gripped unconsciously around my T-shirt. I smile and fall asleep gladly with my beauty on my chest.
