After school, Callum took me home. Not to my place, but his. With Oscar with me. He even went so far as to let Beau come over to brighten my day. For the past few weeks since my fathers accident, I had been in the constant state of numbness.

While Beau and I spoke and she tried her hardest to brighten my day, Callum looked after Oscar while cooking us dinner.

I wasn't over his death, far from it. But I had begun to cope with it. I don't cry every night anymore.

"So trials are coming up. Have you started to study?" Beau asks as we watch law and order SVU.

"A little. Calum has been helping a lot." I say with nonchalant.

"Yeah the boys have been helping me and Axel." I give a halfhearted smile.

"That's good. I'm glad. Lord knows you need the help." I tease.

She gives an uncertain smile. It had been weeks since I had joked around with her like I use to.

I also know why Calum had chosen today of all days to have people around me. Tomorrow is my fathers funeral.

"Yeah, well Axel told me to ask if you and Calum wanted to do a full on teachers verse students memory challenge sort of night. Like a study night and date night combined." I chuckle softly.

"Trust Axel to come up with that. But I don't see why not. When?" I ask her.

"Next week?" I nod my head.

"I'll just ask Calum." I say as I stand up from the couch. I walk over to Calum who had been standing by the stove for some time now. His back to me, I wrap my arms around his waste.

Smiling, he turns around and hugs me. My head burying in his chest as I take in his cinnamon and sugar smell. His warm strong arms making me like the ground isn't constantly breaking under my feet.

I sigh softly. Not wanting to lift my head. I smile as I feel his lips place a chaste kiss on my head.

"Are you up for a game/study night with Jason, Peter, Beau and Axel?" I ask him after finally removing my head off his chest.

"Sure, when?" He asks. Rubbing my arms with his hands.

"Next week sometime." I say. He smiles and presses his lips softly to mine.

"Of course." I smile at his answer and lean up, pressing my lips to his, slower and deeper than the last kiss he had started. His hands hold the small of my back as my arms wrap around his neck.

A kiss that If I could, I would never end. But unfortunately for me, my best friend had to walk in wolf whistling. I break from his lips and roll my eyes at her.

"So much for never in a million years." Beau teases.

"Well, he's one in a million." I retort.

"Did you just inadvertently compliment me?" Calum asks, joining in on the teasing.

"Don't get a big head Calum, soon it won't fit through the front door." Calum chuckles and kisses my cheek before turning his attention back to the stove and to Oscar who had been sat in his high chair.
