This Wasn't Suppose To Happen

Chapter 2

"Come on! there' must be someone you like" I roll my eyes.

"No one" I assure Beau. She huffs, pouting up at Peter.

We've all come back to my house. My parents are forever on business trips. I love them, and at first I loved having the house to myself until I started to think people were trying to break in. So, now every time my parents are away, Beau, Peter, Jason and Axel come around to keep me company and they stay until my parents are due back the next day.

I know it's weird odds, having two friends -who are twins- getting into student teacher relationships. It goes like this, Jason and Peter are best friends, weird since they are so different. And Beau brought up Axel and his sexuality, Jason was overhearing their conversation since he shares an apartment with Peter. So, Jason watched Axel in class for months on end, feeling sorry for him because he knew how it felt to be gay, and through that time the feelings grew and Jason couldn't keep them to himself so they ended up together.

It's sweet. I know, but even though it is cute. It's a rare thing to happen. I mean, sure two cases that are in one school but only one percent of people in Australia admit to a student teacher relationship.

"You're so annoying when you hide it from us" I laugh and roll my eyes.

"Axel, I'm not hiding anything. I don't like anyone, besides it's only been a week since school started" I defend. Beau and Axel drop it while Jason and Peter laugh.

"I'm gonna order pizza okay?" I say walking to grab the home phone.

"Pepperoni!" I hear Beau yell excitedly.

"No! meatlovers!!"Axel yells

"Jason, Peter what do you two want?"

"I'll share with Beau" Peter says.

"I'll share with Axel" Jason says.

The only people I know who are so easy when it comes to food.

"Okay" I throw back an. Start to call.

"They will be here in about half an hour. After dinner I'm gonna go for a jog then have a shower and hop to bed. If you guys are thinking of doing the nasty at all. You know my room, the baby's room and my parents room is off limits" I warn.

I have a little brother. He's two. I bet I come off as an only child. I was until two years ago. When mum and dad are on trips. I watch after little Oscar, I take him to daycare and all. Walking up to his room with some dinner I made for him. He is still teething so I still give him things that aren't too hard for him.

Once he's fed and put to sleep the pizza arrives. I roll my eyes as they all rush to the door for the pizza. Walking to the pizza boy, a boy from my class who always gets my orders I hand him over the money and a tip for himself.

"Thanks Jack" He grins and walks away happily.

I got my ham and pineapple. I'm the only one that likes this. I don't mind, just means no one bugs me for it. Not that I ever finish a whole pizza in one go. I'll take a few slices to school tomorrow.

"I'm gonna go for my jog. I won't be long!" I call out as I walk out the door.

I grab my headphones and iPod, listening to itube as I jog to the park. There's this beautiful lake at the park which, during the day time you can feed dugs, swans, pelicans and all sorts. At night the moon reflects off the surface. A beautiful deep blue sparkle. As I jog, looking at the lake I bump into someone. Bracing myself to fall back, I close my eyes and wince. Only to feel a pair of strong arms wrap around me, holding me to them and keeping to body from falling to the ground. I look up and see Mr Lilac. I sigh and mentally curse.

He stares at me smiling, pulling one ear bud from my ear, he still doesn't let me go but straightens up a little more.

"What are you doing out here Ivy" I sigh, not in the mood to go off and correct him of my name.

"I was jogging. I jog every night around this time" I answer truthfully.

"What are you doing here?" I ask after a few seconds of silence.

"I was just taking a walk. Had a fight with my wife" I can hear clear anger in his voice as he says 'my wife'.

"We can talk about it if you'd like?" He looks at me as if I'm a foreign being. Smiling he shakes his head at my offer.

"I don't want to bore you" I shake my head.

"You wouldn't be boring me. I've been told I'm pretty helpful in these situations" I say with a slight joking to my tone. He chuckles and nods.

"Okay, let's sit down. This might take a while" I sit down on the park bench and pat the spot next to me.

"I've got all the time in the world" I assure him. He stands there, smiling at me, without responding for a few seconds before sitting next to me.
