Chapter 8: Past Ties

Bliss's POV

I closed the door behind me. I can't believe he did that! He left me! Levi was my only real friend! I looked out the window to the right of the front door. He was walking to the carriage. The rain made his hair stick to his head. Eventually he disappeared into the dark where I couldn't see.

"Bliss?!" I heard a voice.

My mother stood in the hallway, she had a wooden spoon in hand. Her face looked angry and I feared the worst.

"I told you to leave and never come back!" She yelled, "Why is my whore of a daughter in this house?!"

I remained silent. She stepped up and grabbed the collar of my green vest.

"So where's that baby of yours now, huh?!" She yelled.

I started to cry, "Eren is safe!"

"Eren, huh? That's what you named him..." She pulled me to her face.

I refused to cry any longer, I put on my brave face,

"Eren is a beautiful baby! 6 pounds and 7 ounces! He had green eyes and brown hair! And the best part of it all is that he'll never have to meet his wretched grandmother!!"

My mother slapped me right across the face, "I don't give a shit about what he looks like, But I will tell you this;
You are gonna leave my house. And if you come back...I swear on my life...I will kill you!"

She grabbed me by the hair and shoved me right out the door. I left and I never went back.

Present day

I laid on the floor, clutching my stomach. I couldn't process what had happened. Did my own husband really kill our unborn child? A tear rolled down my cheek.

I think it really happened.

I heard light footsteps walking in my direction. What else could he possibly do? Is he trying to make my life a living hell? Will it ever end? Probably not. Everything I do, always has a down side.

I fell in love with a boy named Riley and I became pregnant.

My mother kicked me out of her house and she hates me.

I took refuge under Hanji's care and I signed up my baby for experiments.

He went into an adopted family and I never got to see him grow up.

I met Jet and married him.

I got pregnant again.

I ran away to see my Eren.

I was kicked from my position and I took my sorry ass home.

Jet cheated.

He killed our baby.

All I have left is Eren and I'm not supposed to even see him. On the other hand, I have no idea where his father, Riley, is. To be honest with myself, I never stopped loving Riley. I just hid it from the rest of my feelings.

And I only have one true friend. Levi. But, I mean. What am I good for now? Eren is grown up. He probably doesn't want his mother watching his every move. And besides, he has Mikasa watching over him.

I used all my strength to get up. Jet had walked into the room.

"Why?" I cried.

I stepped past him and exited the house. I needed to clear my mind. My mother was right, I am worthless.

15 years ago

Yesterday was the day my mother disowned me. I roamed the streets for days. I didn't eat for 3 days at a time. I was always hungry. I slept in crates and if I got lucky, a bench. Wall Rose was the worst place to be at the time. I could go and visit Eren in his new home, but they lived far out in Wall Maria.

I pulled the sweater over me tighter. I had ditched my vest for something warmer. It was the fall time. Leaves of different colors scattered the ground. I paced my slow steps to nowhere. I didn't what I was going to do with my life now.

I always could jump off the walls, and die. But I have no idea how'd I get up there. I should have paid attention when Levi told me how to use the 4dnh set, is that what's its called? Probably not.

"Wake up, you're safe now!" A voice called. I sat straight up.

A man was looking me in the eyes. He had black hair, blue eyes...overall, he was gorgeous! My face reddened when I saw that he wasn't wearing a shirt.

"U-um...where am I? Exactly." I asked.

The man laughed, "This is my house. I live here. I saw you sleeping outside...so I brought you in."

"Thank you." I said.

He sat in a chair, "You gotta name?"

"Bliss." I stated.

He leaned back, "Well, Bliss. I'm Jet."

Present day

I walked the streets. It was beginning to turn dark out. The sun faded and people began to turn in for the night. I cascaded into an alleyway. I could sleep in the crate a few yards away.

A light tap flicked my shoulder. I jumped and turned around.

"Levi. Why are you here?" I asked.

"I'm actually supposed to kill you, but we both know I'm not gonna do that." He stated.

"Kill me?" I questioned.

"Come one, I need to tell you the truth." He said.

Levi had taken me to a bench near a park. We began to talk.

"Okay. After Eren was born. I was supposed to kill you. But I couldn't bring myself to do it." He explained.

I put my hand over my mouth. "Why couldn't you?" I asked.

He put his head in his hands, "As much of a brat you were, you were a sweet kid. I kinda thought it was cute how you gave your full dedication to Eren. You knew you'd lose him, but you loved him more than life itself."

I turned away, "You should've just killed me..." I began to sob.

"Huh?" He said.

I decided to vent, "Levi...I came home...My husband cheated on me! He...h-he...killed...this baby..." I put hand over my stomach, "He hit me so hard. I basically felt the womb shatter! My baby is dead! It's dead! I have nothing else left besides Eren!" I cried.

Suddenly, the last thing I expected Levi to do happened. He wrapped his arms around me, and hugged me.

I just sat there and cried in his arms. That's what friends are for. I'm glad I have Levi.

He pulled back, "Bliss. Run. Far away from here. Go underground. Go away from Sina. As far as you can. Hide. I'll send you Eren. You two can finally be a family."

"You'd do that?" I asked.

"I'd do anything for you..." He pulled out a slip of paper, "Go to this address. The people there will help you. They'll get you a house, some extra cloths. I'll have Eren there in about a week. You'll have to wait for him. Now you can go."

I took the paper and hugged Levi again, "You have no idea how much this means to me! Thank you...for everything!"
