'Whatever you've done to yourself isn't good. No one reach you, until now. I've been trying for nearly a whole day.' Isiah grumbled.
'Maybe, I didn't want to be reached.'
'Do you have any idea what you've done?'
'Not really, but I don't care. For the first time, since my mom and Charles went missing, I actually feel at peace.'
'I'm glad you feel at peace, but do you have any idea how hectic things have been, since I cut you off?'
'I can take a guess at it. Everyone's freaking out because no one can get a hold of me. I haven't felt or heard any of you, since I woke up. It was actually kind of nice.'
'Well, since you don't seem to be too worried about anything. Can I assume Xavier is dead?'
'Yes.' I replied and replayed what I had done.
He was speechless for so long that I started to wonder if I had lost his connection. 'How did you ever put up with that much pain?'
'I had to, so I did. I couldn't let him live. Tell Malcolm I'm sorry.'
'He shouldn't be too far from you, so you can tell him yourself, when him and Eva and the freaky triplets get there.'
'Where are you, Damian and Mel?'
'Mel convinced us to wait, so we did.'
'So the three of you are still at my house?'
'Unfortunately, I promised her that I'd stay until you returned, so I'm stuck here'
'How is she?'
'She's still recovering, but she's doing well.'
'Good.' I thought and asked 'How were you able to connect to me?'
'We're both asleep.' He replied and added 'It took me forever to connect to you. Before you did whatever you did to yourself, I didn't even have to try to connect to you. Now, I actually have to concentrate.'
'I might have been blocking all of you, but I'm not real sure. After you cut me off, I didn't want anyone to feel anything I was doing, so I cut everything and everyone off. It may take a little while, before Mel and the others can connect to me, again.'
He was quiet for a long moment, before he thought 'I'm proud if you, Alexis. You've done so much in such a short amount of time. I honestly can't wait to see what you do next.'
'Hopefully, this is the end of things. I'm done with all the constant turmoil. I can't take anymore, and I won't. I refuse to. There will be no more life threatening situations for any of us. I won't allow it.'
'We can only hope.' He thought and added 'They'll be there soon to bring you home. We'll see you soon, Alexis.'
'See you soon.' I thought and felt the connection fade away as I started to wake up. In a slight daze, I sat up and leaned against the tree next to me.
I could feel someone coming, but they were a long ways away. I glanced down at myself for the first time since I'd first woke up. I was covered in soot. I was black from head to toe. My stomach was sunken in. I was as thin as a rail. I could see my ribs. I looked awful. When I felt face, I could feel how sunken in my eyes and cheeks were. I was a mess, but the shit storm was over. I was finally going to go home and get some well deserved rest.
When I felt the others getting close enough to see, I forced myself to stand up and start toward them. 'Can you hear me?'
'We can.' Joseph thought with relief. 'Are you alright? You seem ... different.'
