To say Phil was scared to go to school would be an understatement, he was terrified.

Phil's parents hadn't acted any differently after church, so Dan hadn't said anything to them, but telling Phil's parents and telling the school was two different things and Phil wasn't sure what Dan was capable of.

Phil just wanted to get to his friends, Joe and Casper, and tell them what happened. Besides Dan now, they're the only people who know  Phil's gay.

Phil quickly walked into the school and went to head towards Joe's locker, knowing they'd be there, but was stopped before he could get there.

"Hey Phil." Dan smiled sweetly at him.
"H-hey." Phil stuttered. Why'd he stutter?

"Follow me." Dan held his hand towards Phil and Phil took it after a moment of hesitance.

Dan intertwined their fingers and Phil looked down at them as Dan pushed through the crowd. A sense of warmness came over him as Dan unintentionally squeezed his hand.

Phil looked up as he heard a door open and saw Dan had brought him into the bathroom. Dan let go of Phil's hand and checked all the stalls before locking the door.

"Are you blushing?"

Phil reached his hand up to his face in confusion, and yep, he was definitely blushing. His entire face felt hot. Phil just shrugged and Dan, thankfully, brushed it off.

"Who knows?" Dan asked.

Phil looked up at the brown-haired boy with furrowed eyebrows." What?"

"Who knows that you're gay?"

"Oh." Phil said." Just you, Joe, and Casper."

"What about your parents?"

Phil shook his head.

"You haven't come out to your parents?"

"Nope."

"Why not?" Dan said, crossing his arms and leaning against one of the sinks.

"I don't know how they'll react." Phil admitted.

"But you won't know unless you tell them."

"Why do you care?" Phil asked quietly.

"Because I've been where you are, Phil, and trust me you feel a lot better and free once you tell your parents."

"What if they hate me and kick me out or something?" Phil asked fearfully.

"Then you can stay with me."

Phil looked up at Dan with wide eyes. He was being completely serious.

"Sound good?" Dan said smiling.

Phil smiled back shyly." Yeah."

"Don't force yourself to come out to them, you have to do it when you're ready. You just can't hide it forever." Dan said, before, once again, walking out and leaving Phil alone in a bathroom.
