Green.
Blinking softly
Like a lighthouse
Warning me of your sharp and hazardous presence.
It never failed.
Message after message
The light was always there.
Blinking.
I never knew how important it was to me
To wake up each morning to that same
Green led notification
It was a friend
That reminded me how it felt
To feel wanted and needed
You and I would fight
And there'd be an absence of green
Just like the love you once said you had for me
But it would eventually return
The following morning after breakfast
Or at night when the guilt would keep you up.
Blinking.
I didnt think green meant so much to me until the color changed
And so did I.
White.
Like copy paper taken from my mom's printer
Never to be touched unless it was for art class
White.
The color of innocence
Before life would through paint at you
From every different direction
In every different color.
White.
I wanted to start over
Start from scratch.
And I knew
Evertime i saw it
Blinking softly
It wasn't you.
