"Are you like, new here?" -2

I walk to lunch, still flustered about the run in with that boy from earlier. I enter the cafeteria and look around, seeing people everywhere. I stand there for a second before having my arm pulled. I quickly turn my head to see Peyton, Lexi and Sydney all to the side of me.
"Let's go get our food?"
I smile and follow. We get into a line of people and Peyton starts talking to Sydney.
"Did you SEE how Grayson looked today? Oh my god I've never been so heated in school."
My head perks up. "Um, which twin is which?" I ask quietly.
"Grayson is the one in the all black. Ethan is the one with the white jeans." Lexi says.
"Oh." I say, looking down at the floor.
"Why?" She asks as we grab our food.
I buy an apple and a water and follow her to a table.
"I think I ran into Ethan earlier, like literally." I say as I sit down across from Lexi.
"Oh my god, what happened?" Sydney asks.
"He helped me pick up my books and then asked me who I was."
"And you said?" Peyton looks at me.
"I, uh, nothing.. I took off."
They all chuckle. "Of course you did." Peyton says.
I pull out my phone, barely even remembering that I had this piece of metal in my pocket.
I have a few new texts from my old best friend.
V: how're you doing with everything?
V: I know things are hard right now.
V: if you wanna talk about what happened, I'm always here.
Z: I'm fine. Thanks
I respond and then put away my phone.
"Do you have snapchat!?" All three girls ask at the same time. I laugh lightly and then tell them my username. Peyton then begins talking about a teacher I have yet to meet. I doze off into Lala land before being brought back by another figure standing at our table.
"Hi. Are you like, new here?" She says to me.
"I, uh," I begin to say.
"Yes, she is. Now would you go away? We don't have time for your pettiness right now." Peyton says.
"Honey, you're just mad that I'm dating Grayson and you aren't." The girl says.
She looks back at me. "If you ever want some cool friends, my name is Julia and we sit over there." She points to some preppy looking kids sitting by a fountain and then walks away.
I look back to the girls I'm sitting with.
"That's Julia, she's probably the most popular girl in the school, but just because she's dating Grayson, and maybe because her dad invented the selfie stick."
I giggle with water in my mouth and it almost comes out all over my shirt. I pull out my schedule and look it over. I have a human anatomy class, and then two open periods which I learned you can go home for and then school is out. Easy enough for me.
The bell rings and I walk with Sydney to class. The class goes normally, we discuss the human body (wow what a shocker) and then the bell rings again. I walk to my locker to put my books inside and out of the corner of my eye, I see one of the twins walking quite fast to the entrance of the school. If I'm not mistaken, he looks really angry. I finish putting my stuff in the locker and the head to the office. I quickly sign out.
"How was the first day?" The secretary asks.
"It went well." I smile at her and she smiles back.
I walk outside of the school to walk home but then see Ethan and some other guy arguing. I get close enough to hear Ethan say 'you say shit about me or my brother again, you're gonna regret it.'. The guy chuckles so Ethan pushes him and then the other guy takes a swing at Ethan, but he dodges it and then swings at the other guy. His hand connects perfectly with his jaw making the guy collapse to the ground. Ethan bends over and spits on the guy. He shakes his hand out a little bit from the punch and then turns around. Our eyes meet but then I walk quickly down the sidewalk.
"Hey!" I hear him yell.
I turn around reluctantly.
"You don't tell anyone about what you just saw, okay?" I nod my head quickly and then walk as fast as I can home.
