7 o'clock rolls around and I'm waiting for Devin's text. I put on makeup, I did my hair, and even put on some nice clothes.

D: Here, lovely
Z: Coming out :-)

I walk out of the house to see a white nice car, I don't know the name but it looks newer. Maybe A Chevy Cruze? I climb inside the car and he smiles at me.

"No mop on your head?" He winks.

"Not today, I thought I'd try something else." I smile back.

"Well, something else looks good on you." He put his hand on my thigh.

It's not too close, but it's not too far away.

He pulls away and I study him while he's driving. He's the type that drives with one hand on the very top of the steering wheel.

He's so cute. Maybe this is what I need. I need a good guy that will want me no matter what, unlike douche face.

"So, where are we going?" I smile.

"I was thinking Ice skating and then dinner at The Diner?"

"Sounds great." I overlap my hand on his that's placed on my thigh.

A few minutes later, we arrive at the ice skating rink and it's really cold when we get inside. I feel myself shiver, and almost immediately after, Devin wraps his hoodie over my shoulders. It's pretty big, because he likes to wear clothes maybe a size or two too big, but it looks good on him. He's also wearing a hat with the brand "Withwolves". Hm, may have to get one of those for myself.

"Thank you." I blush.

"You look good wearing my hoodie." He smiles, and then I tuck a piece of hair behind my ear.

I'm usually not a fan of light pink, but on this hoodie, it works.

We put on our skates and try to climb into the rink. I've never ice skated before, but he goes out looking like a pro. I put one foot on the ice and almost slip. I tuck a piece of hair behind my ear and look at the ground. I don't want to fall.

"Hey, give me your hand." He says, with his arm extended toward me.

I slowly reach out my hand and take his. I put my other foot on the ice and somehow, I'm still alive. I look down and we're slowly moving across the ice. Holy shit, I'm doing this! I look up at him and I'm smiling like crazy.

"You've got this, lovely." He lets go of my hands and I still haven't fallen.

"It's just like roller skating, but with more balance!" He skates away, going in circles.

Okay, roller skating. I push my feet and I start going faster. I've got the hang of this! A few seconds later, I feel a hand intertwine with mine. I look over and I see Devin right beside me.

"Looks like you've got it down."

We spend the next hour and a half falling, skating, and him trying to teach me how to do tricks.

"Trust me, it's harder to do on a skateboard." He says and we both laugh.

We finally finish up and climb back into the car.

"To The Diner we go!" He says.

I'm glad I did this tonight. I haven't even thought about... dickhead once. Devin is so nice to me, he shows me off in public. He acts like he actually wants me and doesn't pretend just to make me happy.

We arrive at The Diner and we walk inside, greeted to a dimly lit room, swarming with people. For a Monday, it's pretty packed. A lady leads us to the back of the restaurant, in a corner booth. We're right next to the window. She hands us the menus and then walks away, saying that she'll give us time to think about what we want.

"What're you gonna get?" He says, looking down at the menu.

I don't even pick mine up, because I get the same thing each time. A burger with jalapeno poppers on it and a milkshake.

"A bottle pop burger with a strawberry milkshake," I say.

"Yum, that sounds amazing. I'll get the same."

We sit there for the next 5 or so minutes talking about how much fun we had at the rink.

"Okay, okay so when you fell on your ass but then played it off like it was supposed to happen!" I start laughing while I'm talking.

"Okay, that was kinda funny." He says, jokingly rolling his eyes.

"Or, or when you d-" I stop in my tracks when I see Ethan, Grayson and their friends hop out of Ethan's jeep.

Devin turns in my direction, "You know them?"

I put my head in my hands, "Yeah, unfortunately."

He softly takes my hands, "Hey, it's okay."

He's right, I'll just avoid him.

The waitress comes back and we tell her our orders.

I see Ethan walk in through the front doors, he's doubled over laughing along with his other friends. You know what? I want him to see me. I just have to wait for Devin to say something funny.

Not even a minute later, Devin comments on something and it's ridiculously funny. I overexaggerate my laugh a little bit, not enough for Devin to notice, but enough that Ethan WHIPS his head around and looks straight at me. We don't make eye contact, I made sure that that would not happen.

I lean over and put my head on Devin's shoulder. I'm not sure if I'm doing it to piss off Ethan, or because I really want to.

Next thing I know, Ethan is storming over here, fists balled.

"Who the hell is this?" He basically yells.

"Woah, I'm Devin. I'm her date." Devin says.

"Date? What the fuck? We were just on a date not even two days ago?" He says toward me.

I tuck a piece of hair behind my ear and look down.

"Killa, that was before you fucked her over." Devin says, slipping his arm around my shoulders.

"Zoë, you're leaving. Come with me right now." Ethan says.

"No, E. I'm really not." I say, still looking at the ground.

"What happened to trust?" He says.

I stand straight up and look him in the face. "What the fuck do you know about trust?"

Devin stands up and whispers in my ear, "I understand you two have a problem right now, I'm gonna let you guys talk it out. Text me after, please."

I nod my head as he hugs me and walks away.

"We're going for a drive." Ethan says, walking away.
