I held one of Amy's arms while my mum held the other, keeping her in balance as we approached the door.
I honesty don't know if I had taken a breath the entire walk over, but as we knocked on the front door my heart began to pump faster than it ever has before.
My eyes began to open and close rapidly to try and hold back any tears that night escape them.
The soft thud of footsteps approaching the door filled my ears and the jiggling of the door handle seem to cause my heart to go crazy.

The door finally  opened after what felt like centuries only to reveal him, standing with only pyjama pants on and hair that looked like he'd just gotten out of bed, which he probably had seeing as though it was 1 o'clock.

He rubbed his eyes with both hands before scanning me up and down, then I watched as his mouth cracked into a small smirk.
I could feel the nerves building up in my body, almost consuming me. If it wasn't for Amy holding so tightly into my arm my body would've been trembling.

I looked down as an attempt to calm myself but the butterflies in my stomach were causing me to feel sick, slowly I looked up only to lock eyes with him.
His bright blue orbs pierced through me, his stare was intense. I could feel it piercing into my thoughts, it was almost as if he could read my mind.
Before finally he let out a small chuckle and spoke,

"Hey Hunter"

The sound of his voice left me unable to speak, I never thought I'd hear it again.
His family moved suddenly 2 years ago and we had lost contact.
But now in this moment it felt as though he had never left.
The raspy tone filled my eardrums with a sound I thought I'd lost forever, it danced around bouncing in my mind.
"How could two words bring me so much happiness" I asked myself

With every ounce of courage in my body working together, finally I was able to open my mouth and mumble a response,

"Hi Ryan"

The moment seemed to have lasted hours but in reality it had only been a few minutes, my heart was pounding and my lips were trembling.
No one had ever had this effect on me except him and he knew that.
Amy's weight was transferred from my arms to her sons with a quick sharp movement.

Ryan's expression looked extremely concerned and worn out at the sight of his mother in this condition. It was almost as if he felt the pain she felt, but of course he did. He had his father walk out on him, of course he's damaged.

As Ryan turned to take Amy inside he mumble a small along inaudible Thank you, before slowly pulling the door closed.

My eyes lingered on the house as we pulled away from the drive way, my mind racing and my fingers trembling, maybe it was my turn to be happy.
I sat awake that night, his cool blue eyes etched into my memory.
I never thought I would see him again
But here he is.
