Maddy rushed over in panic to check what had happened to Cisco. A single lead bullet had gone straight through the middle of his skull. She then screamed in abject terror when Ramon grabbed her hand. His eyes were very much open and he was very much not dead.
Raw muscle tissue pulsed and clumped over the entry wound, and bones cracked and reformed back into place, good as new - save of course for the somewhat macabre glow of afterbirth.
Cisco took a breath out and then passed out briefly in order to heal his brain and replace neurones and the like.
Maddy stood defensively over her fellow escapee's body, staring intently off into the fog. Her eyes darted, and her fingers flexed as sonic energy played amongst them like deer in a forest. The rattling of gunfire slid through the smog; directed at somewhere which wasn't Maddy.
Neurones fired in her head and she lost control. She winced and put her hands out. A massive blast fired out of her palms; the sound of the screams which had contributed to the blast rung in her ears. The walls around them sung and broke in harmony; a dark duet with Maddy's destructive power.
Her fingers twitched as she sensed her blasts collide with a human shape and she heard a gun clatter to the floor.
Stars danced in front of her eyes and she wavered on the border of joining Cisco in unconsciousness. Her plummeting mind was caught by Clarke, who put her hand on her shoulder and comforted her. Maddy collapsed, crying softly, onto Clarke's shoulders.
Clarke was more than slightly caught off guard by this but, after a shocked recoil, she put her arms around Maddy.
'Let's go find the purple girl.' She said to Maddy.
Maddy agreed and the embrace broke up.
'What're we gonna do about Cisco?' Asked Maddy.
'Just leave him. If he's as capable as I think he is, he'll be able to handle anything that comes his way.'
By now, Cyanide was walking towards a window on a high floor of the building; surveying if it would be a survivable escape route. It was then that footstep rung out on the damp tile floor behind her. She turned, and saw a monster.
A monster that used to be human. A monster that used to be Ryan Wilson.
