(Rachel Cordero Above)

I was sitting on the couch in the living room, staring at the blank TV screen in front of me. Personally, I think Lisa and Samuel thought I was crazy and were a bit concerned about me; heck, I was concerned about myself. I was staring at a blank TV screen, with the remote in my hand, as if the TV was on. I was stuck in my thoughts, which was peaceful, but also like a mini world war 3. I was thinking about school and Adam, and my father in prison, as well as Amanda and Joe. I wanted to get out of the house a little, but the Cordero family was scared I would bump into Adam on my way around. I didn't like the caged up feeling. I finally broke eye contact with the TV screen and looked to the kitchen doorway, where Lisa stood, looking at me with a concerned gaze.

I smiled at her then looked at my hands. "Carson," she asked me. I looked up at her again. "Hmm," I responded. She smiled and started walking toward me. "Do you want to get out a bit?" she asked me. I nodded and looked down. "Yeah, but I can't. I feel like Adam has replaced my father, I can't go out without the fear of bumping into him." I complained as I lay back in the couch. I sighed and closed my eyes. "I feel trapped again," I said. She sighed as well and then touched my knee. I jumped and my eyes shot to her hand. She immediately removed her hand, noticing my fright. She gave me a smile. "I don't want you feeling that way. Why don't we go for a walk, he can't come near you with me there?" she suggested.

I closed my eyes again and swallowed hard. "I kind of want to be alone for a while, but I can't, can I?" I asked her. She gave me a sad smile and shook her head. "I'm not sure that's the best idea, I mean, I don't know who this guy is." She said. I sighed. "But surely, if I'm careful, I can go out and not get attacked. I mean, I started the fight; I punched him first." I said, now sitting up and looking at her. She stayed silent, thinking through what I had just told her; Lisa and Samuel didn't know that I started it. She nodded. "That's a good point, and Samuel as filed a restraining order against him for you, but I think I should just call him and ask him what he thinks, since he is the head of the home." She said. I nodded my head. "Go ahead, I just want to get some air." I said and made my way to the door.

Lisa dialed the number as I stood in the doorway of the front door. I looked at the different neighborhood. There were four little kids playing outside; two boys and two girls. They were playing catch and kiss. The little boys were chasing the little girls around, until the one boy caught the one girl and kissed her on the cheek. I chuckled and the other little boy and girl screamed the word, cooties. "Carson," Lisa called. I turned around and walked toward her. She was smiling. "Samuel said that I could drop you off at a park around the corner. It's quite big; Rachel and Luke go there all the time. You could walk home?" she suggested. I nodded. It was better than nothing. "I'll take it, let's go!" I yelled excitedly and ran out of the door. She chuckled and grabbed the car keys.

"You don't have a phone, do you?" she asked, even though it was more of a statement. I shook my head then laughed. "It broke," I said. She smiled. "Okay, well, if you don't get home by 3 then I know to come and look for you, okay?" she said and handed me some money. My eyebrows creased. "What's this for?" I asked her, looking from the money to her. She smiled. "In case you're going to be late, you could use a payphone and if you get hungry, there's always this guys in the park who sells popcorn and snacks from his chart, his products are actually quite amazing." She said. I smiled and thanked her. "Pleasure Carson, take care." She said then drove off. I waved then walked into the park.
