"Come on now, girls, don't leave our special guest waiting!"
I groaned and threw my pillow on the ground. My roommate, Alexis, snapped at me.
"Oh please, R! Why are you even bothering with going? You know nobody's ever going to want to adopt you," she snickered, "At least, before I get adopted."
"First of all, oh really? Is that a challenge? And second of all, you need to learn my name is Riley and not just R."
"Okay, sure, whatever, Riley," she laughed before skipping down the stairs in her frilly lace dress.
What a bitch.
I pulled on my favorite Panic! At The Disco shirt and some black skinny jeans, tied my black converse and checked my hair in the mirror. A messy bun. That'll have to do. I walked down the stairs to be met with an annoyed Ms. Hunters.
"Riley, there you are! Come on, sweetheart, this lovely young man is patiently waiting!"
My eyes almost popped out of my head as I joined everyone else in the living area. Brendon Urie is standing in front of the fireplace, taking in my appearance as I walked in. I watched him smile to himself as he saw my Panic! shirt. Ms. Hunters stood beside him.
"Girls, this is Mr. Urie, and he's looking for one girl in the 14-15 age range. That is why I need Riley, Alexis, Grace, Juliette, and Kate to remain here. The rest of you are dismissed back to your rooms."
The other 20 girls started the walk back to their rooms.
"Riley, please introduce yourself by naming your full name, your age, and one fact about you. Then, so on. Got it girls?"
We all nodded. She smiled.
"Alright then. I'll leave this to you, Mr. Urie."
Brendon smiled and motioned for me to begin.
"My name is Riley Skye Anderson, I'm 14. I play acoustic guitar, drums, ukulele, and plenty of other things. My favorite band is Panic! At The Disco, I've been to see you once, on the summer tour in August."
He smiled and looked at Alexis.
"I'm Alexis Faye Johnson, I'm 15. My main inspirations are to draw, but lately I've been finding a particular liking in music. More of an alternative rock style, I'd love to get to learn how to play some of it.
"Grace Amelia Lange. I'm 15, almost 16. I can play saxophone and ukulele, and I'm a passionate concert-goer."
Grace and I liked to hang around and play ukulele together, she was one of my best friends here.
"My name is Juliette Rosalina Gray, but you can call me Julie. I'm 14. I love the outdoors, but I truly love the wildlife. I love any animal.
"And finally," Kate laughed,"I'm Katelyn Jo Batts, but everyone calls me Kate. I'm 15, and Frank Sinatra is one of my favorite artists along with some classic rock bands."
Brendon's face lit up. Kate had really won him over with her music taste. Then again, he had seemed really happy to hear what I said. Ms. Hunters walked in once again.
"So, Mr. Urie, have you made your decision?"
"I actually think I have. I'm going to have to say...Riley."
Alexia's face turned red.
"What?! Her? R? She's awful, she causes a lot of racket, and she's a depressed emo freak! Why would you ever choose her?"
"What's going on in here, Bren?"
I snapped my head to the doorway where Sarah Orzechowski, Brendon's girlfriend, stood.
