I was awoken with screaming and crying. I had no idea what was happening, but I could tell something had gone wrong—extremely wrong. Looking at the clock, I groaned—7:35am. The jet lagged side of me didn't want to get up and see what was happening, but the concerned side of me willed myself out of bed and down the stairs. I entered the living room and find Brendon collapsed on the couch, tears streaming down his face.

"Bren?," I asked softly.

"Riles—no, you don't need to see me like this. I-I'm supposed to be strong for you."

"Only the strongest men aren't afraid of crying. What's going on?"

"I'm stressed, and fuck, I got upset over something small and started yelling at Sarah, which was a mistake, and she started crying and walked out. I have no idea where she is and Riles, I'm fucked."

"Brendon. I suggest fixing things. At least before things escalate more. That's your fiancée, and I'm not letting you let her go that easily."

"Shit, you know how sad it is that I'm having to take advice from my daughter?"

"It's not sad. But get your ass up and go to the Starbucks on 6th avenue."

He lightly laughed, grabbed his jacket and shoes, and walked out the door. I smiled to myself and went back upstairs, to hopefully fall back asleep. I woke up four hours later, thankfully to peace and quiet. Brendon hadn't returned, and Zack was nowhere to be found. Looks like the house is all mine. I grabbed a bag of mini doughnuts and raced back to my room. I pulled out my laptop and immediately turned on Netflix. I automatically selected Riverdale, I had become obsessed with the show. I got through two more episodes before Brendon slammed my door open.

"Starbucks. Now."

That's all that was said until we got to the Starbucks. Sarah was sitting at a table with a man, who looked significantly like her. Her brother? Father? No, not her dad, he's too young. I approached them cautiously, trying not to interrupt anything.

"Riley? What're you doing here?"

"Well, Brendon slammed my door open and ordered me to come here so..."

"Well, this is my brother, Steve. He's in town for a little while before his wedding. I'm flying back out to Detroit with him, and we decided to meet up to talk about things."

"Brendon's pretty broken, Sarah."

"Like that's my fault? I've already talked to him, I'll straighten things out before I leave, I promise, Riles. I love your dad too much to let him go."

I smiled before returning to Brendon, outside the store.

"Now really Brendon, was it that hard?"

"I thought she hated me! What was I supposed to do, approach her and interrupt her meeting with her brother?"

"You knew about this? You knew she would be here, so why'd you need my advice to find her?"

"Darling, it's not that simple. I knew he was coming into town, but I didn't know when. She didn't inform me that they had set something up this morning."

"I think she might have sprung it on him. She probably was upset, got to the Starbucks and asked him to come earlier than they had planned."

"They've been here for almost four hours."

"And? Leave them be, she's coming back home."

He shook his head at my stubbornness and unlocked the door to our apartment.

"You know I've got a show in the Bahamas tomorrow, and I have to fly out there tomorrow morning.."

"I'm not coming back until late on the 18th, are you going to be okay?"

"As long as I'm with Sarah."

"You will be. Sarah's flying out to Detroit next week for Steve's wedding. On the 22nd to be exact. She's going to be there the day before the wedding and two days after, I believe."

"Alright. Well I'm gonna go watch some more Netflix, I'll be downstairs for lunch in a little while."

He nodded and I entered my room, shutting the door behind me. I turned on episode 7 of Riverdale, it's so addicting! I ended up finishing the entire first season, and literally dying at the end.

Sarah had returned home and was downstairs talking with Brendon, most likely about the fight earlier. I snuck downstairs and into the kitchen, snatching up a bag of Oreos and sprinting back up the stairs. Finally, it seemed, things were settling down, and maybe, just maybe, we'd finally get some alone time as a family.

*Time skip to August 6th*

Today is Brendon's last Kinky Boots show. He's at the theater early this morning, well, early for him, 9 am. They're throwing a little goodbye party now, and celebrating after the show since there's only one show and it's at 3:00. We're going to see the Kinky Boots show on the 8th, to see the show but without Brendon performing. Not that the man doesn't do an amazing job, but I do think he deserves a break. He jumped from touring to Kinky Boots, and I definitely think he's ready to go home for a little while. Brendon doesn't like to stay still for very long, but when he does, he works. He's always doing something associated with music or he's pranking us, he's always got to be moving around.

Showtime finally came around, and my heart hurt at this being Brendon's last show in Kinky Boots. I'm sure he'll pursue other roles in acting and possibly even Broadway, but it's still painful to watch his amazing performance on broadway come to an end.

Tonight's show was by far the best show of his run. You could tell he put his all into it, and he had tears in his eyes when he walked off the stage. We joined him backstage with the cast and waited for them all to get back from the signing. They were all telling stories about things Brendon did in the two and a half months he was performing. We all went home, and that would be nearing the end of a perfect summer for me, and a perfect run for Brendon Urie.

I know this is a short update and I promise the next one will be longer. I just wanted to let y'all know that I've had slight writer's block but I'm getting back on track. I've got big plans for the future of this book. I probably won't be updating this week or maybe the beginning of next week because my birthday is Friday (July 14th) and I've got band camp for marching band starting next week.

Q: have any of you gone to see kinky boots? how was it?
