Chapter 5: The Secret

Sitting in the woods that keep the Midnight Pack and the Blood Runners Pack separate. I waited for Hadley to get here so she could tell me why she didn't want people to know that we are mates even though her wolf and my wolf wanted people to know. I tried asking my wolf what secret she was keeping from me but he told me it was not his place to tell but that it was big.

I spun my head around in the direction that I heard the noise. At first it didn't look like there was anyone there but then I saw movement and saw that it was Hadley.

“You know you don't have to hid from me right I am your mate.”

Shut up. Someone could hear you!

What the where did that come from. It sounded like her but she didn't move her lips.

Because we are mates we have the ability to listen to each others mind and talk to each other through out minds even when we are humans.

OK. So I'm sensing you don't want people to hear what your big secret is so tell me through my mind.

I do care. I can't let someone get killed what has nothing to do with what is going on.

My dad was the Alpha to and that didn't stop them. What makes you think that your different?

I know they are coming and I will be ready when they come.

But you don't know who they are for you to be able to protect yourself when they come.
