Tyler decided to go and find Josh. He wanted to get away from Nick for a while, and he really wanted to talk to the ginger boy and catch up.
When he arrived to his friend's cabin and knocked on the door, he heard nothing but silence. He knocked again after a minute, but nobody opened. He tried to open the door himself, but it was locked.
Maybe they're with Ty and Sky in the other cabin.
Tyler walked over to the second cabin. He knocked. Silence. He tried to open the door. It was locked.
Okay, so they have to be with Michael.
The blonde boy sighed and turned around, making his way to his new destination. When he stopped in front of the door, he was expecting to hear laughter, or at least some kind of noise. But once again, he was met with silence. He frowned a little, but then decided to at least try. He knocked. Nobody opened. But when he tried to pull the handle, the door slightly creaked and opened.
Should I go inside? What if they're not here, and Michael just forgot to lock the cabin?
He shrugged and fully opened the door, stepping inside. It seemed like nobody was there. "Michael?" Tyler called out, looking around for a sign of life. After a few seconds of silence, the boy decided to get out and try calling someone. Just as he was about to turn around, he heard the sound of footsteps, and then the quiet creaking of the stairs. Michael appeared at the bottom of the stairs, just in his boxers, looking a little puzzled. His dark hair was messy, and his deep brown eyes seemed tired.
Okay, he was hundred percent napping and I just woke him up. Great.
"Uh, do you need something?" the tall boy asked in a raspy voice. Tyler really, really tried not to stare at his body, but he couldn't help it. Michael was not super masculine, but it was definitely enough for the blonde boy to bring heat into his cheeks. "I-I was just wondering if-if you know where are the o-others." He stuttered, looking away and shifting on the spot. "Oh, yeah, they went shopping. They didn't tell you?" the older boy raised his eyebrow and sat down on the couch. "N-No, they didn't tell me. Excuse me for bothering you, I-I'm just gonna go." Tyler mumbled, turning around and walking towards the door.
Oh god, I'm so awkward, please kill me.
"Hey, you can stay here if you don't want to be alone! I don't mind." The older quickly suggested. Tyler hesitated for a moment.
I don't wanna bother him. But I really don't wanna go back to my cabin. It sure as hell smells like cigarettes. I hate cigarettes.
"Okay." He said quietly and crossed his arms sheepishly. He had no idea how to act. He was always a little bit awkward, and the fact that he basically didn't know Michael at all, and that the boy was sitting there just in his underwear, didn't make the situation any better. "I actually wanted to go out and explore the woods around here and stuff. Do you want to go, or would you rather stay here and play video games?" Michael asked, getting up from the couch.
"I-I'd rather go out. I wanted to look around too, actually." Tyler mumbled and looked up, smiling a little. "Okay, I'll go and put some clothes on first." The older boy smiled too and then turned around, running up the stairs.
I think we could be good friends if we get to know each other more.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
An hour later the two boys were somewhere deep in the forest, just walking, talking, and looking around. They were walking in the tall green grass between the trees, making their own little paths. The sun was beginning to set, and the golden rays of sunshine were trying to find a way through the branches. The sound of the little stream a few steps away, the rustling of the grass and the leaves and the quiet chirping of the birds was calming their minds. Everything else seemed to be completely quiet.
"We should follow the stream. Maybe we can find a lake or something." Michael suggested, breaking the silence. His left eye twitched a little, and so did his shoulder. The younger boy just hummed in agreement and followed him, ignoring the twitch. They walked over to the stream and then continued to walk along the water. Both of them were lost in their own thoughts. The blonde boy curiously watched Michael's face. He kept twitching and grimacing, and Tyler had no idea why.
Is Michael uncomfortable around me? Or is he having a seizure or something? Why does he keep twitching?
The older boy noticed that Tyler was staring, so he raised his eyebrow and smirked. "What?" he chuckled and tilted his head a little. The younger boy blushed and looked away. "I-I just-why do you twitch so much?" he stuttered, playing with his long sleeves. Michael just snorted with a smile and shrugged. "Oh, that. I have Tourette's." he said calmly. He was used to questions like that. Tyler didn't know what to say. He didn't even really know what that was. "O-Oh, I'm so sorry, that was probably very rude to ask." He mumbled, biting his bottom lip. The older boy just chuckled. "It's okay, you didn't know. And I'm used to it anyway. You know what my nickname is? The Rettes." He laughed. The younger boy just smiled and shook his head. "By the way, I'm sorry for this morning. I didn't mean to insult you or anything, I just thought you looked cute, and younger than the others, so, yeah." He added and chuckled sheepishly. Tyler blushed a little at the cute part and smiled. "It's fine, I was just being overdramatic. M-My classmates used to make fun of me because I was a lot younger, and the bad experience kinda stuck with me, I guess." He explained quietly. "Oh, I see." Michael hummed.
They walked along the stream for a little longer. The sun was long gone when they found the source of the water. There was a lake with sandy shore, surrounded by trees. They could see the mountains in the distance. The boys immediately ran towards the sand. "Holy Crap, this looks amazing!" Tyler gasped. The water was so clear that they could see through. "I bet that if the sun was shining right now, we could see the bottom." The older boy stated and kneeled down, burying his hands into the water. The blonde boy just looked around, still taken aback.
This is so pretty! I'll make sure to bring my camera the next time we go here, and take some pictures.
"I'm bringing my swim shorts the next time." Michael mumbled to himself and got up. "Oh. It's actually starting to be really dark, do you have a torch or something?" he added when he looked around. The blonde boy realized that Michael was right and shivered. The forest suddenly looked creepy. "N-No, I don't." he whispered. The older boy just shrugged. "It's okay, we can just use our phones. Come on." He stated and smiled. The younger boy smiled back, and then they started to make their way back to the others in silence.
