Chapter Fifteen. Dinner

When Katelyn exits the bathroom, she sat besides me "I'm bored.." She whines.

"What do you want me to do about it? I'm bored as well.." I mumbled the last part, I kinda feel tired as well. But, it would be rude to fall asleep while having people over.. Right?

"Maddison, Your dad said dinner will be ready in 10 minutes.." Zero said, leaning on the door frame.

"Oh okay. What's taking them so long?" I asked

"How am I suppose to know? I was in my room" Zero rolled his eyes in annoyance while walking back to his room. Did he seriously not notice Katelyn?

"Talk about rude.. He never noticed me.." Katelyn sighed.

I'm guessing she met Zero before, though I am curious why he doesn't notice Katelyn. I look at her for a minute, nope she doesn't look like Barbie. Maybe a bad history with blonde people? Nah that's stupid. Maybe he just doesn't care.

"I'm sorry Katelyn, I don't know why he doesn't notices you either. Has he ever looked at you?"

"Only once.. It was when I first came to this place, I said hi to him and he just stared at me. After that, he walked away and for the rest of the time he ignored me. Have you ever notice that Zero is pale?" Katelyn asked while raising an eyebrow

"No.. I actually didn't notice he was pale.. I didn't pay attention to his skin."

"DINNER IS READY!" A voice echoes through the hallways.

"I think that was my dad. Let's go" I said with a blank face, I grabbed her hand and dragged her downstairs. When, I walked into the dining room I gasp. It smelled delicious!

"Oooh, smells devine! What are we having?" Katelyn said with a happy smile. Devine? Devine?? Who uses that word anymore?

"Pasta and Steak!" My dad's girlfriend exclaim with a happy smile.

"Now, what are we waiting for? Let's have a seat" My dad said. I sat by Katelyn and her mom and my dad sat across from us.

"Sooo.. Your dating my father?" I say with a mean tone, I tried to sound nice but I couldn't.

"That's correct. You must be Maddison, Your father speaks of you! Almost all the time" She said, she also have a French accent

I glance at my dad with a smile "Really? What should I call you ma'am? Soon-to-be-mom?" I asked

"Call me Jessica" I nod my head.
I grabbed the fork and twirl the noodle, before I put it in my mouth and eat it
Katelyn spoke "Father? May I call you that?" Katelyn asked my dad "Sure" he replies.

"When is the wedding?" I ask concerned, "Oh, Uhm.. Nathan when is the wedding?" Jessica looks at my dad with a confused face and he shrugs.

"How about in five months? Sound good? Yep it does." I nod to myself, I heard them mumble in agreement.

I grabbed the knife and stares at the steak. Before I could cut it, My dad grabbed the knife and cut my steak in squares. My face turns pink from embarrassment "Dad.. I'm not a little kid no more!" I mumbled loudly. He chuckled slightly "The last time you used the knife, you ended up with a bleeding finger." I smirked and giggled.

I heard footsteps walking towards the table "Am I late?" Zero asked and I shook my head no, Zero took a seat by Katelyn. My right eyebrow slowly rose, he didn't chose to sit by me. I mean, I don't have a problem with it but why Katelyn? He doesn't notice her.

"Pass me the salt" Zero said to Katelyn without looking at her. Katelyn just stared at Zero with confusion, she grabs the salt and gives it to Zero. Zero put salt on his pasta. It's actually kind of rude to not look at the person your talking to.

My dad gives the plate of cut up steak, I heard someone chuckling a little. I snap my head to whoever was laughing at me, Zero. "What?" I growled, Zero shook his head no. I grab my fork and stab it into one of the steak then, ate it.

"Buyz hevae nu mennaers.." I said while chewing.

"Ewww, Maddie eat with your mouth close!" Katelyn giggled. I shallow the steak and smile without showing my teeth.

We ate in silence, while we were eating I could tell that Katelyn was in deep thoughts. Maybe because of Zero.

When I finish my food I put my plates in the dishes, so did Katelyn and Zero. Katelyn and I walked to my room "Let's gossip!" Katelyn smiled and I sigh "Okay.."

"Who do you like?" Katelyn asked.

"No one" I mumbled, sitting uncomfortably.

"Suure" Katelyn winked

"Who do you like?"

"W-What? U-U-Uhh.." Katelyn starts playing with her hair "Ca.." Katelyn mumbled quietly, all I heard was Ca.

"I couldn't hear you but, it's good enough." I nod.

"Maddison!! I need your help!!" My father yelled from downstairs, I groan "Coming.." I half yelled back "Stay here." I run downstairs.

What does he want?!

I stare at Maddie's phone, seriously she needs to stop leaving her phone with me.. Wait, don't stop. I grabbed her phone and FaceTime Caleb. While it was ringing I fixed my hair,

"Hello?" Caleb said. I stop and smile at him,

HE'S SHIRTLESS!! DONT LOOK AT HIS ABS MUST FOCUS ON FACE

I force my eyes to look at his face "Hey Caleb, I don't have your number on my phone. May I ask for it?" I grin and he nods, once he gives me his phone number I kept smiling at him.

"So.. What do you want to-" I quickly cut him off  "Wanna hang out sometimes? I mean, you don't have too. You seem busy anyways! You know what? Forget I even ask that, it's stupid anyways. I'm sorry for asking you don't have to say yes, you seem like a busy guy I'm sorry for asking OMG! I know you will say no-"

"Sure" Caleb replied

"What?" I blinked a few times
"Sure" He repeats "Who wouldn't want to hang out with a beautiful girl like you?" He smirked.

Well, if you may know.. All of my ex! Yeah yeah so what if I have a bunch of ex? I bet Caleb does too. Calm down, I only have like 6 ex.

"Me? Beautiful? Aren't you charming" I giggled with a blush.

"I swear to god, just because you broke something doesn't mean you have to call for help!!" I heard a girl voice shouting from downstairs heading their way upstairs. I gasp, Maddison is coming! "I gotta go. We hang out tomorrow?" Caleb nods, I quickly hang up and put her phone where it was.

"Ugh, my dad is so annoying. He suggested to call the hospital because he broke his vase, that's so stupid! Who does that?!" Maddie growled, I shouldn't mess with her..

"You should calm down" I suggested, Maddie collapse on her bed "I miss my friends.." She mumbled looking sad.
"Why don't you invite them over and let them stay for a few days? I'm sure your dad has extra rooms" I smile, "Maybe I can sleep over as well" I winked, only so I can see Caleb.

Maddie stop and thinks, a smile creeps up onto her face "You're a genius! Thank you so much!" Maddie exclaim, launching towards me and giving me a tight hug "Heeeelp... C-Can't .. Breathe.." I trailed off almost fainting. Maddie quickly stop hugging me "Don't die on MEEE!" She cries and I smile at her "I'm fine. Now let's get your dad permission and invite your friends"
