The dead awakening

Chapter 6

It feels just like I started, waking up surrounded by glass and dust. The only thing that feels different is that I have John.  I rub the sleep out of my eyes and stretch, slowly I begun to rise from the dirty ground. I blackout for a brief moment thinking it's was another dream but the blackness goes away before it can take its full effect. I wobble over to John and start shaking him tiredly to wake up. After about five minutes he turns around grunting at me before he pushes himself up. "Whyyyyy would you fucking wake me from my slumber." He said with a big yawn. Remember we still have to go looking for the other pure people before time is cut too short for them.

After eating a breakfast of what consisted of a granola bar and an apple and was all the scientists could muster to give us we set off. At first everything is calm and not even the wind howled at us. But a little wild later things took a turn for the worse. Because a huge sand storm hit as we begun to start our journey. I cough as sand flies into my mouth. I can barley see and then my foot hits something I look down and it's a book so I pick it up and look at the title squinting. I can barely read it but it says "The way out" I clutch it in my hands and put it under my arm and keep pushing my way through this storm. When John and I can't go any further we turn around and head for the scientists headquarters.

I open the big doors with all my strength and fall inside finally away from the sand stinging my face.
I unclench the book from my sandy hands and open it up. What I find blows my mind, "We discovered that our universe is just a simulation inside a computer. However, we also found a glitch that leads into the real world. You are part of an exploration team that the government sends through this portal good luck fellow recruits and bring back our people". What", I almost shout to the scientists just a few feet away, how could this be. I thought you said that we were the pure people and about some weird thing that took over the world but now I see you store people here and when they are better take them back? "Well not exactly we take people from the past and put them back into the future to begin life all over again but there is a glitch in some of the formulas that allow you to slowly get back your memory that you are suppose to forget and start a new life". I look at him bewildered and almost slap him because who the hell would come up with a stupid idea like that, people who are dead should stay dead and not come back okay that's why we do the whole "REST IN PEACE" thing. They look at me and sigh," Yes we know miss we are just doing what we are told to do by the government". But then there eyes light up, " But they never told us about an exit, it must be secretive or something". I smile well are we going to get out of this hell or not? They all smile and I know we are going to finally get out of here, alive.
