The dead awakening

Chapter 9

You would think by now I would be use to where I was but I still wasn't very accustomed. I look around but I'm standing in darkness. Out of the corner of my eye I see John walking towards me with a big grin. "Kathy we finally made it"! I look around to find that the scenery had changed and instead of darkness around us there is a bright white glow to the room. The room looks deserted with scattered books and empty mugs laying all over the place. I look up and realize there is a giant blue portal in front of us. John then proceeds to grasp my hand, I wiggle out of his grip and he staggers backwards. He must of been shocked, but of what we have never even had a formal talk with each other. He walks straight up to me and tucks my stray brown hair out of my face and kisses me on my lips. The kiss is so real I almost believe I'm not in a dream and am really kissing him. He steps back and nods at me before he shouts "See you in the past Kathy". And off he goes. At first he pixelated almost and then disappeared, I went to jump in and a scientist stopped me. What I say anxiously, I look up now and see that the portal has turned red and starts to shake. Then as if by some magic the lights turn off. I look around confused again an in the dark. The lights flick on fast and all I see is men in black suits and they have trouble written all over them.

I wake up face first in the burning hot sand. I begin to stand up slowly shaking all the grains of sand off my shirt when I see John and one scientist on the desert floor too. I shake them violently until they give me a short loan before getting up. I give out a sigh of relief that they aren't dead. I help John to his feet as he shakes the sand from himself as well. The others must of ran off I thought and maybe we would bump into them down the road and regroup. All that is important know though is that we have each other.

We walk for what seems like miles before we see three lumps sitting in the sand. So we start to run towards them thinking it's the others and it was but not how we wanted them.john stared at me at the lifeless body's on the ground and the blood still flowing out of the scientists body's. This is fresh I recall so we best get moving and try to find the girls at least. All of them shake there heads agreeing terrifyingly. So we pushed on until we found someplace else to spend the night for. Well it also turned out that the girls were there too and they gave us the full story. I couldn't think of the drama that could cause a little girl but we listen to her until she is done and tears flow to her eyes. We all hug her and stand back around a warm fire and then we roll out some blankets and fall asleep, we'll all meaning John, our only scientist left and the two girls not including me because I know I won't last much longer out in this heated dry land.

Sorry for the long wait but you know school just started and sports too so I've been real busy so I'll try to post more whenever I can.
