Saturday Vibes: Part 2

I get to the mall just in time and as I get out of my car and I'm walking up to the mall I hear a horn honk behind me. I turn around and smile.

"Wait up for me while I park," Darren says.

I nod. I wait for him as he parks then he catches up with me.

"Hey beautiful," he says.

"Hi," I say shyly.

"So you want to go shoe shopping then have lunch.?" He asks

"Sounds like a plan," I confirm.

When we get inside the mall we go to the shoe section. He goes down the aisle that has Nike's and I go down the one with Under Armor(A shoe brand). I see these black and yellow shoes that match my jersey I read the name and what do you know they're Curry's. My all time favorite basketball player. I check the price tag 200.00. That's expensive. I debate on whether I should get the shoes. I'm in the middle of thinking when I feel someone tap my shoulder. I turn around to see Darren smiling at me. He had a green shoe in his hand.

"Look at these green KD's I found,"he says smiling

"Those are nice,"I say smiling.

"Did you find any shoes yet,"he says.

"I was looking at these black and yellow Curry's," I shrug.
"But they might be a bit out of my price range,"

Get them they're nice. I'll pay for them this day is all my treat. You deserve those shoes." He says

"Oh no I couldn't have you pay for these they're 200 dollars," I reason.

"Well either I pay for them now and give them to you or I buy them later and give them to you. Money isn't an issue for me Chasity," he says looking deep into my eyes.

"I don't want to hang out with you for your money," I say

"I know that just let me buy you these shoes please," he says.

"If you buy me these shoes I'm paying for lunch," I say.

"No I'm paying for lunch too," he states.

" This is a deal take it or leave it ," I say not budging.

"Fine," he groans.

I smile and grab the box off the shelf. We go to the counter and he pays for both of our shoes.

"So where do you want to go for lunch," he asks.

"There's a pizza place at the food court," I suggest.

"Let's go," he says.

He grabs my hand and starts running. I start running along with him while laughing. We finally reach the food court and I'm out of breath.

"What kind of pizza do you like," I ask

"Pepperoni is fine,"he says.

"Go find somewhere to sit and I'll get it," I say.

He nods and walks away. It takes me about 15 minutes. I look for where he sat and I see him in a booth in the far right corner. I come over there and sit across from them and set the pizza box between us.

"I want to get to know you better Chasity. What's your story," he asks staring deeply into my eyes like I was the most interesting thing in the world.

"Well I'll let you know the basics about me. I obviously love basketball I've been playing since I was 5. My favourite colour is neon green. I hate oatmeal and peas. Now tell me some about you," I say

"Well I love basketball also and I've been playing since before I could walk. My favourite color is red. I love oatmeal and I hate green beans." He said

"I feel like I've known you for years," I sarcastically say.

This makes him laugh. "All in good time."

Afterwards there's a little pause then he finally speaks.

"Are you single.?" he asks with a bit of hesitation in his voice.

"As a pringle. I just got out of a long relationship with my first love who was a big fat cheater just because I wasn't 'supporting his boyish needs',". I say using air quotes.

" I'm sorry. If it makes you feel any better I think he's very stupid if you ask me. Your a gorgeous girl who should be prized," he says with a serious tone.

I shrug. I didn't really want to talk about Kyle.

"What about you are you single," I ask

"I wish I could get rid of Bianca but I am forced to date her under some heavy circumstances," he says sadly

"Sounds complicated," I say

"If you only knew. But I dont want to talk about her," he says looking distant.

"What time is it.?" I ask.

"Uhh 6:30," his eyes widen. "I have to go I'm sorry I forgot I'm having an important dinner tonight."

He begins to stand up.

"That's okay I have to get home anyways," I say.

"Let me walk you out," he says.

He grabs my hand and walks me out the sun is beginning to set outside. And I watch it go down as we walk to his car.

"This was fun. I really enjoy being around you Chasity. I'll text you later." He says as he pulls me into a hug.

He let's go and looks at my face seeing my red cheeks and laughs.

" Bye Darren until next time," I wave as I head to my car.

He gives me one final wave as he gets in his car and drives away.

I get in my car and I sit there for a minute and smile before I head home.

At Home
"We're doing what.!" I yell exasperated.

"Chasity we have to make this move I got a huge job offer which means more money," my mom explains to me for the 4 time.

"I'm not going. We can't just pick up and move we've lived out here too long. I'm leaving my friends and some of our family. And this house is one of our last reminders of dad.!" I yell through tears.

"Chasity Mya Rivers were are moving to Lancaster after your basketball season end of discussion," she yells finalizing the argument.

"I wish dad was still here he wouldn't let you do this to me.!" I yell before running to my room and slamming the door. I sit against my door and I cry for what seems like hours.

Next Morning

I wake up on the floor next to my door. I rub my eyes and stretch,and then it hits me I'm moving to Lancaster.
