And there I was, standing in front of my new school. Well, it wasn't really a school, it was a college. The education after you graduation basically. My college was a little be different though. I did not decide to study law, economics or medicine, like lots of my highschool friends do now. No, that's too boring for me. I decided to go after my passion of theatre. TheatreCollegeLA it was.
The building is located in the outskirts of LA, between the trees. The building's humongous, but that's necessary as you need space for dance, singing and of course acting. My best part is acting, I don't really care for dancing and singing. Furthermore, the building looks like an old, carehome from the outside, with big squared windows, and three floors. One of those carehomes where the rich would go. If I believe the pictures on the site, it should be very modern on the inside.
I took a deep breath, and pushed the heavy wooden door, for the entrance, open. I pushed my suitcases trough. I then wurmed myself through too. When the door behind me closed, I looked around the space I found myself in. Nope, the site didn't lie, it was extremely modern. The floor was covered with a bright, pastel pink carpet, and the walls were plain white. Here and there hung a painting with lots of colours. Probably made by students. The welcoming room looked like a hotel lobby, with some seating areas with coffeetables. The wooden coffeetables were covered under a pile of lifestyle magazines. The seats were also pastelcoloured in blue, yellow and purple. Very tumblr.
"Hello darling, can I help you?" The voice came from the counter. A middle-aged woman stared at me. She had red, dyed hair. I could tell she liked colours a lot, as she was wearing bright red cateye glasses, which were a slight tint different from her hair. Not cute. Furthermore she was wearing a green, comfy sweater. Her skin was really fair, but there were some wrinkles here and there. Overall she had a very friendly expression. I like her already.
"Yes! I'm a new student, and I need the key to my room", I said. "Aha, I can help you with that! My name's Patty, what's yours?" Patty suits her appearance perfectly. I smiled at her, "My name's Mandy Straville." "Lovely name, I shall look your name up in our system and give you your roomnumber." She turned to her Mac computer and started typing. I followed her the way trough. "Yes I found your name! You will be sharing a room with Chloe Davidson. She's lovely, so no worries!" She winked at me. I laughed, Patty had already met Chloe then. "Well that's nice then, but can you also tell me what room I'll be staying in?" "Oh of course! I totally forgot!" She started typing again. "I'm getting older every day", she murmered.
"I found it, your room shall be number 224, that's on floor number three and you have to take the right in the hallway!" "Thank you so much! It was nice to meet you," I shaked her hand. Patty laughed and said, "No problem honey, that's my job! Oh and before you go and meet Chloe, I just want to say; welcome to TheatreCollegeLA!"
