I looked at Chloe. I was doubting, should I make my past prettier, by leaving the bullying part out, or should I tell my true, sad story? Chloe had been really honest, and I liked her a lot. Whatever, what did I have to lose? Chloe waited calmly. I cleared my throat. "Er, my story isn't really as nice as yours. I've never had any friends, not even fake friends. My only friend I ever had was Sarah, but that was only in our last year of high school, and I haven't really talked to her since our graduation. The reason I didn't have friends is because I used to get bullied a lot." I stopped for a few seconds, I felt myself getting emotional. Shit, I never cry about this, what is this. A tear streamed down my cheek. "You know, I, I don't ever cry about this, I don't know what's happening", I said. "I understand, it's okay. Shall I get you some water?" "No, no thank you, I'm alright!" I wiped away the few tears I had cried. "Man, why were you bullied?" Chloe asked. I laughed, "Because I'm a ginger of course." Chloe's mouth fell open, "What the fuck, your hair and skin are beautiful! People really do find anything to bully you." Now it was my turn for my mouth to fall open. Me? Beautiful?
The only human that ever called me pretty js my mum. And every mother calls their daughter good looking, so that wasn't special either. "You only say that because you're sorry for me", I murmured. Chloe frowned, "No, I honestly think you're pretty", she said seriously. I tried to put on a smile, "That's very sweet of you." Chloe pulled me close for a hug. "Now you have me, and I won't leave you. God that sounds like we're boyfriend-girlfriend!" We both laughed. "Do you want to continue your story or shall we leave it for today?" I sat sup straight, and started talking again.
"The bullying was during my middle school time. It ended when I went to highschool, because I moved to a different area. Anyway, the bullying really got to me at some point. It was always one certain group of populair children. They used to wait for me after school and shout at me, or sometimes hit me. I'm a quite sensitive person, so it made me feel very depressed. I think I was too, but I don't really know. A typical cliché, but that was my bullying story. My family has always been very supportive though, we're very close. I have two brothers, one of 15 and one of 23. Their my best friends. My parents are a bit overprotective because of the bullying, but their cool. I don't really know what to say else. I guess that's my story?"
Chloe stared at me. "The bullying part is terrible Man, I'm sorry. I know those annoying populair girls, I was even one of them at a certain moment. I do really regret that phase, but I thought, if I just join the squad, I might get real friends even though I have to act like a bitch. Will you still like me?" Chloe with a nervous tone. I smiled, "It's the past Chloe, it doesn't matter anymore, we will still be best friends!" Chloe sighed with relief and hugged me.
I looked at the clock. 23:45. I yawned, "Shall we go to sleep then?" Chloe saw me yawning and yawned too. we both laughed. "Yeah I'm tired too, tomorrow we should go and explore LA and college!" Chloe said. "That sounds fun, I can't wait!" I closed my eyes, and before I knew it I was gone. Asleep then.
