I let the cool water flow down my body. I could almost feel the pain and sadness washing away with all the dust, which once rested on my body, but it wasn't long before I was brought back to reality as my mum knocked on the washroom door, calling for me to come out.
Reluctantly, I closed the shower and dried myself with the towel and wore a bathrobe, covering myself, better get dressed up before I get the cold.
Suddenly my eye caught my reflection onto the bathroom mirror. For a moment I couldn't believe it was me, it can't be. I didn't look like this before. Here I was standing, a bathrobe covering me, my here all ruffled out, but my face. It was my face that didn't look the same. It was much skinnier and I had eye circles. I could almost make out the shape of my cheek bone and my lips were all dried up and cracked at places.
But the thing that was most prominent on my face was the pain; the pain that flickered in my eye whenever I thought about my dreadful and miserable life, the pain that was there in my words whenever I spoke up, the pain that was there in my tears whenever I cried.
The pain I could see as the tears flowed down my face.
I took the towel from the stand, dried the tears up and exited the bathroom.

"Look I know, you won't exactly believe it, but I need you both not to freak out." I said in the most soothing voice, staring at Sarah and Rose. Rose stared back at me with her curious blue eyes and Sarah concentrated on her lemonade slurping it down quickly. Seeing Sarah like that made me look towards my own glass of lemonade that sat there untouched.
"Okay?" Rose answered me and motioned her hands for me to continue.
I took a deep breath and nodded to myself. I was going to do this, there is no moment to waste or the fates might again take my chance to tell them what they needed to know.
I closed my eyes and spoke up, there was no turning back.
"I am leaving this town." I quickly said, hoping they both hadn't listened to what I said, but of course, they did.
Sarah choked up on her lemonade and started gasping for air, thumping herself on the chest, desperately trying to get the lemonade out of her body. She looked like a fish out of water and that made me want to laugh, but I didn't. This was going to be a serious situation, almost all the town was here, in this Café and I didn't want to make this a bad situation.
For a moment, Rose and I both sat there, taking that splendid scene in, but then we both stood up and started thumping Sarah on her back helping her to breathe again. A few people turned their attention towards us, leaving their foods.
Fine if somebody is murdering my friends, but losing one just because she sucked up a whole lot of lemonade, just wasn't an option.
After a few minutes of struggle (and lemonade), Sarah's breathing returned to normal, but now she looked more scary and dangerous than she usually was.
She gave me a death glare but before she spoke up, she straightened up, smoothen her clothes and hair, wiped her hands and her mouth, cleared her throat and stared at me.
"WHAT?!" Sarah bellowed as she threw her hands on the table, shaking with furry. Another bunch of people turned their attention towards us, clearly looking for drama as I desperately sat there and thought of a way to calm Sarah down.
"Look, I don't want this to happen. I tried to persuade my parents but they won't listen. I wasn't on talking terms with them for almost three days! Still they won't listen to me; almost our entire house is packed in cardboard boxes. They just won't see the situation." I explained and as I continued, Sarah slowly descended to her seat.
