Seventeen

Scarlett's POV

I've been home for a few days now and today is my first day back at school after the entire fiasco caused by myself.
Tonight Vic is bringing Danielle over and although I don't exactly like her, she did come visit me the day I came home and my father seems happy with her so I'll give her a shot. For him that is.
Both of us have decided to change for the better and it starts with accepting what each of us like. Like how he's madly in love with a 20 year old and I'm dating an eighth grader. Yes eariler today Danny asked me to be his girlfriend and that's where I am right now. Sitting on the soccer field during our lunch with the group talking about random subjects.

"But last night was killer. We've gotta do it again man" Austin told Danny.
"Yeah but my parents are out of town and they have the car but when they get back defiantly dude and well bring our girls" he said.
"What?" Taylor asks.
"Next time we go drifting you two are coming with us" he told his girlfriend. Drifting? Like in cars? Aren't they a bit young?
"Isn't that a bad idea though? I mean you guys are only in middle school" I told them.
"Look at goodie two shoes. Babe trust me, it's fun" he said looking into my eyes.
"Also dangerous"
"Yo chill out there buzz kill. We've been doing this kinda crazy shit for a while. We got a routine and everything" Austin said finishing his ice tea.
"Look, you don't wanna go. Don't. Us three will have fun"
"I'm not saying that am I" I questioned making Taylor high five me.
"Atta girl" I smiled at her. It was wrong and I knew it was but I want to fit in and I'll do anything to do that. Just like how I'll have to dye my hair black because Bailey said I'd look better with it. I'll just have to convince Vic first.

After lunch I walked back into the hall way, this time by myself since the group didn't come in yet, and put everything in my locker before heading back to class when I heard my name being called. I turned around and saw Sophia running up to me. She wasn't sitting with us today and I don't know why but her sister said it was because she found another group her age.
"Hey Soph. What's up?" I asked stopping to let the girl catch up to me.
"What were you guys talking about at lunch today?" She asked.
"Just random stuff"
"Did Danny and Austin talk about drifting?" I nodded.
"Don't go. Last summer Austin killed his girlfriend while they were driving. He smashed into another car and she died. They're crazy you know. That's why I don't like hanging out with them" she explained.
"That's a lie" she shook her head violently.
"I'm not lying. I want you to be safe scar"
"And I will be. Don't worry. What's one night having fun gonna do" she gasped. "You guys are doing again?"
"I'm going for my first time when Danny's parents come back"
"Please don't" she begged.
"Why not. It sounds like a lot of fun and you're not gonna stop me" I told the girl in front of me.
"I know but I want you to be safe"
"I'll be fine. Now get to class" I demanded her.
"I want you to be okay. I really like you"
"Sophia! I said I'll be fine! God dammit!" She nodded and ran back to class allowing me to go to mine. Some people are the definition of buzz kill. Not me.

At 6:45 the door bell rang through the apartment and my dad ran past my room to go answer it. And I mean ran. Like I haven't seen him run that fast since, to be honest I've never seen him run so that was a first.
"Hello there beautiful. Welcome to me casa" cheesy.
"Hello to you too. From what I've seen just by the lobby it's a beautiful place" I heard Danielle say. I heard the door close and that was my cue to get out of my room and say hi to her.
"Oh your daughter is here" she said surprised.
"Yeah. She kinda lives with me" said told her confused.
"Am I a problem?" I asked making her shake her head quickly.
"No no no no. No you're not darlin' I just never met you before I've just seen photos of you that Vic has shown me or mike has posted in Instagram that's all"
"I'm Danielle" she added walking closer to me and extending her hand for me to shake. She was beyond beautiful. Red hair, freckles, she was taller than my dad and I noticed that but that was a small thing, she had beautiful green eyes and such a pretty smile.
"I know. I'm Scarlett"
"A pretty name for a pretty girl" she said, her smiling not leaving her face.
"Thank you"
"Let's eat. I'm hungry" Vic announced. His stomach is a bottomless pit I swear. Danielle giggled and followed Vic into the kitchen. I followed both of them. Tonight was going to be boring.

The night went on and I've been meaning to ask Vic something but Danielle wouldn't leave. It was now 9:30 and they were sitting in the living room watching some movie he rented for them. Probably some porno. I'm suppose to dye my hair for the group but he was enjoying her company so my guess was he didn't want anyone disturbing him. Anyone meaning me or the boys since his phone was in his room. My iPod buzzed and I looked at it to see Taylor has messaged me so I unlocked it and went into our messages.

Taylor!!!: did you ask your dad about dying your hair yet¿
Me: he has someone over so I'll have to ask later
Taylor!!!: why don't you ask your stepmom?
Me: I could but she's out of town :(

My 'stepmom' is Rachel. All my friends think Vic and Rachel are married so they just call her my stepmom. I haven't told them they broke up but I really should. But not yet. The idea of asking Rachel to let me dye my hair was a good one. But I doubt she'd let me, especially since her and Vic are no longer together and I'm not her responsibility anymore. Doesn't hurt to ask her though right?

Taylor!!!: well then ask her when she gets back!
Me: of course I will! Don't worry X)

I searched my contacts and found Rachel's so I clicked it and typed in a message waiting for her to respond in which she did in a minute.

Rachel! <3: hey my love. Haven't heard from you in a while. Glad you're doing okay. And of course you can stay here while Vic goes out of town. Want me to pick you up after school tomorrow? I bought an apartment here in L.A and there's two rooms so you can have your own :)
Me: okay thx so much! And yeah if you can. Thx again Rachel <3
Rachel! <3: anything for my little girl

Sure it was a little white lie but I know Rachel couldn't say no so if I stay there for three weeks I'll be able to dye my hair, go out with my friends and on top of that get to live with her. Vic won't mind. I think.
I'll have to ask him whenever Barbie leaves.

But anyway, Danielle is here! What do you guys think of her? Do you think she'll be nice?
Do you think her and Scarlett will get along?
What do you guys think about the whole drifting idea? Should Scarlett listen to Sophia?
What about Scarlett living with Rachel? How do you think this will end?
This book might be my shortest one so far because I think I'll be ending it at around 25 chapters or so but after I'll be starting one of my books from my bio so let me know which one you want me to start.
