WHEN WE ARRIVED BACK AT school, it was just an hour or less left till school was over. Zahra quickly opened the door dashed out the car. "I'll see you later," she yelled as she ran for the entrance. She was out of sight before I could even respond.I didn't have enough willpower to make myself attend anymore classes, so I was deliberating on whether I should just go home or stick around till I get the willpower.
TJ and Wayne, the people I am stuck with before I eventually graduate and forget about them, walk up to my car.
"You missed a few classes," TJ says, leaning against my car.
"I don't really care," I sigh, leaning the seat backwards. "I didn't really feel like attending any, honestly,"
I watch as Shane walks out the door and towards the car. Shane and I have known each other for fourteen years, he was the only person I actually liked. He understood me and I understood him.
He walks up to me. "Why the fuck didn't I see you in chemistry? I had to lie for you."
"I have lied for you more times than could be counted," I say. "I lied to Gina that you were at my place when you really were at Lizzie's. I lied to-"
"That is enough," he says, cutting me off. "I get it," he takes off his backpack and tosses it on the hood of the car. "I saw you leave with that Zahra girl. In fact, I've been seeing you hang out with her a lot these days,"
I just give a light smile, remembering what I did with her just an hour ago. "Really?"
"Ooh," he smirks folds his arm. "I see what is happening here. Are you smashing her?"
Before I could deny it, Wayne interrupts. "Dude, are you? Because if you are, then you are the luckiest guy in the school. I have been trying to get with her since freshman year,"
"Wasn't she sleeping with Devon Hayward when he was with Trina," TJ adds. "I think he was the luckiest guy in school to have those two,"
"I don't think that was true," I say, shaking my head as I bite my inner cheek. "They were just stupid rumors,"
"Did she tell you it wasn't true?" Wayne asks, raising an eyebrow.
"We have never really spoken about it," I say. "But she just doesn't seem like that kind of person,"
"From what I have observed," Shane starts. "You are not fucking her,"
"No, I am not," I say, resting my arms behind my head. "Not yet, anyways. It will happen eventually, it is bound to,"
He gives a sly smile. "So, you are trying to? What exactly is your relationship with her?"
"Complicated," I say, thinking about how I could put it properly. "It is somewhat like a non-exclusive exclusive relationship. I believe, she is my girlfriend, actually,"
