I STARED DOWN AT ZAHARA'S sleeping figure, her hair scattered over her face

I STARED DOWN AT ZAHARA'S sleeping figure, her hair scattered over her face. I push a strand away so I could get a good look at her, she looked so soft and peaceful. She had changed over the past few days, she used to be so... alive, but now she was just always so sad.

I swing my legs over the side of the bed softly and stand up quietly so I wouldn't wake her up. I grab my pants of the floor and pull it on before silently making my way out of the room and downstairs to the kitchen. I open my fridge and scan for anything appealing to eat, it was a bit empty because I haven't gone grocery shopping in a while. With a loud groan I close the fridge and move over to the pantry, taking out a bag of potato chips.

As I was about settling down on the couch the doorbell rings. I couldn't think of who it could possibly be. Was it Shane? No, he was at his little sisters ballet performance. Dad? Certainly not, he never visits without informing me first, he thinks it is rude to visit someone without telling them. Maybe, it was some of my other friends, I didn't know any of their whereabouts, so there was a possibility it could be them.

I walk over to the door and look through the peephole. Nicole.

"I know you are looking at me through the peephole, Karldon," she says. "I heard your footsteps,"

I groan, resting my head on the door. Zahra was fast asleep upstairs and I know for a fact that Nicole was not going to leave.

"I'm not going to leave, Levi," she says, confirming my thought. "I'm going to start screaming if you don't open this door. I'm going to make a scene and all your neighbors will come out, I will make sure of that,"

I unlock the door and let her in. "Keep your voice down, Zahra is sleeping,"

"Zahra is your girlfriend, right?" She asks, pushing past me. "That's a pretty name,"

"What do you want, Nicole?" I ask, looking up at the stairs. "I thought I told you to stay away from me? I don't want anything to do with you, now please leave,"

"I'm not going anywhere, Levi," she says, picking up the bag of potato chips I was eating. "I told you what I want, I'm not going anywhere till I get it,"

"It is never going to happen, Nicole," I state, trying my hardest to control my voice. "There has to be something else, a hidden agenda. There are thousands of rich men that would kiss your feet if you want them to, there is something you want from me and I want to know what it is,"

She laughs softly before pushing a potato chip into her mouth. "I don't want anything from you, I just want you," she pushes herself off the couch and sashays towards me, stopping directly in front of me. "Is that so hard to believe?" She reaches out and caresses my cheek. "My sweet Levi,"

I swat her hand away from my face and was about to respond when I get cut off.

"Levi?"

I look towards the stairs to see Zahra staring down at us, my throat instantly going dry. How long had she been standing there?
