ZAHRA WAS IN AN AMAZING MOOD the next day I saw her at school

ZAHRA WAS IN AN AMAZING MOOD the next day I saw her at school. She was beaming, her hair, for the first time, was styled, hair skin was radiant and a smile was spread on her face, it was like she had just been crowned the queen of the world. It looked good on her, the aura she had today, it accentuated her beauty.

I decided that this may be the perfect time to try to speak to her and properly apologize for what happened between us.

"Hey, Zahra," I say, approaching her at her locker. I tried to be very cautious, I didn't want to spark her again. "Can we speak?"

"Levi," she says with a soft smile. "There isn't really anything to speak about. I forgive you for following me and invading my privacy. It's a thing of the past now,"

"Really?" I ask. I was genuinely surprised by how she was acting, whatever happened that put her in this mood, I hope it happens again or lasts forever. "That's it?"

She nods. "That's it. There isn't any need to drag it on longer than it needs to be. I'm not mad anymore, so let's just drop it," She furrows an eyebrow. "Or do you want me to stay angry at you?"

"Of course not," I say. That works fine with me, these past few days of not being with her has really been somewhat of a drag. Sometimes I felt like speaking to her, then realize that I couldn't because she was angry. I won't deny missing her company, even the sound of her voice."That's great, actually, because if I am being completely honest I have missed you a lot, Zahra,"

"Is that so, Karldon?" She smiles coyly. "You could have called me,"

"I could have, but other than the fact that I was terrified, I also thought it would be appropriate to apologize in person," I say.

She nods and the smile still drawn on her face. "That's sweet of you, Levi,"

"What can I say? I'm a sweet guy," I shrug. "Anyways, you seem really happy today," I reach out and touch a strand of hair. "You styled your hair and you are wearing makeup,"

She slaps my hand away from her hair. "Because I am happy, Karldon," she says before closing her locker. "Let's just say a lot of good things have happened to me. My family,"

"Would you like to tell me about them?" I ask, leaning against my locker. "I would love to hear all about what put you in this elated mood,"

The bell starts ringing and she groans. "We'll speak about it later,"

"No problem," I say. I take her hand in mine and push myself off my locker "Let me walk you to class then?"

She nods. "If you want to. I won't disagree,"

I walk her to her class before heading for mine. The school hours passed by until it was time to meet up for the play. After more than a month of designing costumes and props, the play was finally here. I couldn't help but think about my relationship with Zahra when we started this group project, I couldn't stand her and neither could she stand me, but here we were now. It is surprising how things can change so drastically, if someone had told me a month and two week ago that I would develop genuine feelings for Zahra, I would have thought it was impossible.
