Let me give you an intro into my life. My name is Kate Black. I'm a pretty tall girl with short brown hair and black glasses. I mostly wear black and my favourite rock band is Blink 182. Oh and by the way i can talk to plants.
My life has not been easy. My billionaire father was murdered fourteen years ago and my mom was murdered by the same serial killer when I turned 10 , leaving me and my sister orphans. The police claimed the person that killed both my father and mother was a serial killer named "The Rose Killer".
Lexi and I were sent to live with our Uncle Klaus. He is my mother's twin brother. He was really nice, he always brought us gifts from around the world, but since he had to care for us now he had to leave behind his dreams of traveling the world and had to get a real job. Klaus cared deeply for us, but as the years passed he developed a drinking problem. He never could settle down and now he had to take care of two girls.
It started as one glass of whiskey when he came home from work ,but quickly turned into a bottle. When he was drunk he became really aggressive, he never hurt us ,but one day it changed. Klaus had come home from work already drunk. He got fired for drinking on the job. He began yelling at Lexi because she did not wash the dishes, I kept explaining to him that it was my job because Lexi was only seven years old but he did not listen to me and started pushing Lexi and she fell and hit her head. I immediately stepped in between him and my sister. He started hitting and kicking me . I yelled at Lexi to run to neighbors to get help, but she was knocked out. I yelled and yelled hoping someone would hear me.
After that I couldn't remember much. I remember hearing sirens and Uncle Klaus walking away in handcuffs. I woke in the hospital with a broken nose, a black eye and bruised face. Lexi was sleeping beside me with only a little cut on her forehead. I would not have been able to forgive myself if anything had to happen to her. I love her more than anything else in the world. I would give up my life for her any day.
After a few hours a lady with purple glasses came and talked to me. She explained that she is a social worker. Apparently we had no other living relatives and we had to be placed in the foster care program as soon as I got out of the hospital.
Our first foster parents were really nice. Lexi and I both had our own bedroom with our own bathroom. Libby and Cole were their names. They were so nice, we could even decorate our own rooms. Lexi filled her room with stuffed animals. Since she was little she had a special connection with animals. She could talk to them like I could talk to plants. Libby even let her get a dog. I however painted my room black and got myself a Bonsai tree. Cole was a chef and made us an exotic dinner every night. Libby could play the piano like an angel. I always wanted to learn how to play the piano and after a few months I could. They considered adopting us. It was so close to perfect. We stayed at Libby and Cole's for three years, but I guess all good things has to come to an end.
As I said it was perfect until the police showed up. Libby and Cole were vigilent hackers. I felt so betrayed. We ended up back in foster care , but this time Lexi and I were split up. She went to live with the Clarke's and I had to go and live with the Gilbert family. They were good to me ,but I guess I had hated them for not wanting Lexi as well. They bought me car and I got my license. I missed my sister so much and we could not even talk to each other. We weren't allowed to communicate until I am 18.
The Gilbert family was Christians, but I don't believe in God or anything else and they couldn't accept it. They forced me to go to church and read my bible every morning and evening. A few days after I turned eighteen , I went searching for my sister. I couldn't handle not seeing or talking to her. The pain began to be too much for me to handle. I lost my mother and father , my uncle had abused us and ended up in jail, the people I trusted were hackers and now they had taken my sister away from me as well. This went on for a few months until I found her at some Prestige school. I packed my bags and left.
