Pretty Girls

Chapter Four

Overall it was a great christmas, the next morning, Xael and I walked over to the Gryffindor common room with our presents from our families and opened them with our friends. Mrs. Weasley sent me a sweater, it wasn't like her usual ones. It had a scoop neck, extra long sleeves, and for good reason firstly because I have ridiculously long arms and secondly because I like to curl the end of the sweater over my hands because the Slytherin dorms are really cold. It was baby blue, like the Beauxbatons uniform, and had a brown C on it. I absolutely love it. I slid it on over my black tee shirt and sat down on the floor in front of Neville's feet and opened the first of my remaining presents. It was from Fleur, there was a letter attached and I could tell Neville was reading it behind me, or at least trying to... Fleur had very loopy writing that was fairly neat but due to the loops and swirls, very hard to read.

I miss seeing you everyday. I saw this and thought it would help you impress that boy you like... Good luck! See you over summer, perhaps he would like to stay with us for a while? I asked mom and she said it was fine. Ask him, I can't wait to meet him!

Fleur

I unwrapped the box and dropped it in shock, Fleur had sent me a few things, lace tank tops in black and light blue, a new pair of high heels, and a black choker with our family gemstone on it. That choker had been in our family for three hundred years, the last person who wore it was our grandmother, it only comes off after the wearer dies. The stone is supposed to make your magic stronger.

"What a pretty necklace." commented Hermione "It looks like it's a family heirloom." she added

"It is." I said as I handed it to Neville for him to clasp around my neck.

I opened Bella's next, I inwardly cursed myself for opening it in front of people

I miss you! Tell Neville I said hi, I heard he might be staying with us for some of summer, be sure to keep him from Auntie, remember what happened to Fleur's last boyfriend? Anyways, I miss you so much and I hope you enjoy the present!

I opened the box dreading what she had sent me, there was another box inside of that one, it went on, box in box four more times and finally I got to the last one which was a small black box, I opened it and saw a pretty ring, I recognised it immediately, every Beauxbatons girl gets one when they start third year and I had always wanted one, it was a silver ring with the school crest carved into a blue diamond, it was guarded around the side with roses and thorns, they were there to remind the girls of what Madame Maxine said every year

Never trust a pretty girl. But trust a girl who is pretty at heart, one who is pretty inside and out.

I started crying after I slid the ring on my finger. Neville calmed me down and I explained the significance of the ring. I grabbed the present little Gabrielle sent me, it was a beauxbatons banner, she had a little note written in her messy scrawl
